So you want to become great hmm? You do all the activities when they come up, and all the competitions when they're updated, but that's not enough. Animation takes daily practice otherwise you'll never get any better. I'm not saying I'm good or anything, but I do know a thing or two about the virtues of steady practice. So animate something, anything! A ball bounce, a splash, a wave, a punch, whatever, it doesn't have to be big, just do it!

I'll kick it off with this guy I doodled out a little bit ago.

The first and last frames of the cycle are almost identical so it sorta pauses every other step, but other than that it looks like a pretty solid walk cycle :D

[Edit] Guess you fixed it

looks ok dieselboy
though umm...maybe make the bullet....fast?
if it were moving that slow..it would touch his head...and fall...haha :o :P
and his hand should probably recoil a little more...
other than that...it looks pretty good....

:P Seems like a cool thread. Good place to post all those wasted animation bits that you never finish. I'll post some when I get home.

Thanks,
I was just messing around, if I put more time into it i'd make it go slow motion once the trigger is pulled and zoom in on the bullet and head and make it all extra gory, but I couldn't be bothered.
Just felt like posting it as i'll probably delete it.

Your getting there boggle, just try to keep the shape and size consistant. Do you have animators survival kit perchance?

Yeah I got it about a month ago. I'll do the next walk cycle with the pencil I think it would be easier to maintain the shape if I used it cause it won't change size like the brush tool would with the pressure sesitivity and such. :bing:

AWesome animation ElectricGnort! :D

I agree that this should be a weekly animation thingy. You cant really make anything good in 1 day. And making 2 second sketches of some random stuff, well.. I wouldnt call that "animation practice".

Thanks for the compliments :D

Andros- Just some things I noticed-

The 'dust' part of the explosion should slow down as it gets expands away.
You could also have pieces of the eye-guy flying out for added effect
The clouds of dust also shouldn't all fade out at the exact same time; It makes
it look a bit unnatural.

This is by no means a perfect explosion but i think it gets the point across :P

Ok, this is my apsolute FIRST flash ever. I even haven't touched Flash 8 (i got it from a friend who sells stuff like that) exept installing it. This is my first, done on trial-n-error method. Most everything inmy life is.

It's rather pointless thing I made in 40 minutes or an hour, i don't know.

Rate, crits, sugestions ect. (Just don't kill me!)

My first thingy (if you can even call it a 'thingy')
