when have you seen someone move there arm up like that, and also, the quilt slides off to quick, and it shouldnt slide all the way off
ill post an example shortly

Yeah, its a bit wierd I realized. And I had to change the quilt, cause the first attempt it wasen't moving at all. It was stuck in his arm, and he had to push it down :P

Well, thanks for the crits. I'm gon' see what I can do.

I agree. I borrowed it for like 3 weeks from my library a while back - massive improvement in actual animation and answers to many questions and queries I had. Good work coming from you guys, I think some of you could work on more inbetweens though to help slow things down (especially your bouncing ball zigity - and more on Shanewaier was talking about; try giving these physics a go at the animation forum)

We got it in school. I've just started animation class, so I will get much better in a year or so.

Wow, your school FREEKING rocks! :o

I know! I've recently started it.

I have animation class from 9 to 12 on Monday's but we've only watched cartoon movies so far. We'll start animating on Monday and I can't wait!

In three years I will be a master of the animation world! :bfoot:

Or, click here.

My first animation in ages. I plan to do the line art, colour it in, and then play with flash filters to see what I can get away with without too much slowdown.

Tinsterr: Your waking man sorta has a Nosferatu vibe to him. Instead of having him magically tilting upwards, get him to use his elbow for leverage. Show him shifting his weight as he moves from lying position to sitting.
I'd recommend doing that first, then adding the quilt in afterwards.

Here's my second attempt, done of advise from Jemooky.

http://img124.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vaknar2am5.swf

I guess it's a little laggie 'cause it takes to load it.

I will add the quilt later.

Critics!

Here's it with quilt.

http://img235.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vaknar2tckeck4.swf

Now I see he should use his arm, removing the quilt.

I will fix it later.

And now with the bird.

http://img79.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vaknar2fgella8.swf

Is no one reading this thread? :P

Please! I need critics!

800% better.
You seem to be missing a few frames linking his turning-over to his lying-on-back position.
And here's something I noticed when I made that sitting animation: if you use different colours for different frames, try to make them as similar as possible, or at least similar in saturation or brightness. Make it different enough so you can tell the difference when animating, but similar enough so that the animation doesn't seem 'flickery' when you watch it.

Other than that, a great improvement.

Improvement for sure. Good work - but what Jemooky said, tis a little flickery but it's only a test right?

I like it, Jemooky, but it doesn't seem like there's enough weight to the animation. Maybe you could make the character dorp down a little more before he pops up, or make him bend his arms a bit more. It just seems like he does a little bit of floating to the sitting position.

I'll try to add an extra frame where he is bending down lower, then tweak other bits to give him more weight.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Not a problem. Hell, that extra anticipation may even be wrong! It's just a suggestion. ;)

G'day Wiz!

I like it, its very original.
brainstorm time..
maybe make the tower wiggle a bit in the wind to show more flexibility.
perhaps a wind change.
add some rain and lightning and you got ya self a flexi-tower surviving a storm.

Keep up the good work!

No doubt. :)

I'll spread the brackenwood animation gospel to you, since you're apparently new here. (Welcome, by the way)
There's one thing that every animator here thinks in completely essential to learning animation: The Animator's Survival Kit. It has everything you'd ever want to know about animation in one book. You should check it out.

Nice tower Wiz!

The water looks okay, except I recommend the drops being more of a teardrop shape, unless you're going for a certain style :)

Anyway, here's a random thing I did while I was trying to get the hang of my Wacom:

Take a look at some basic spin cycles of this Demon I did!

Demon

I also Tried making him go a different direction, so here it is!

Demon II

Tonight my brother drew "Wiz" and all the drawings but I did the animating
(Idea also by him)(It's not a repeating animation, so it's a bit glitchy at the end)

Wiz

What do you think???

I like your animations. Though try to make the first demon not jumpy when it loopes.
Try typ draw every head in the same size.

The other demon lookes like the head squeezes a little when it rotates.

The last one was funny :D
