The way in which your dragon flaps, his wings must be pretty strong to move his body like that. His body should be more stationary, and the wings should be doing the moving more-so than the dragons body itself. here is a quick animation i did. I based all of the animation in the wings, giving the feel that the wings are propelling the dragon, rather than yanking him around. >>>Test #2<<< Iprobably could have put more lag/timing into certan posistions of the wings, but i decided to go with it as is. |

Hi Hi haven't posted in this thread yet, but I decided to try experimenting with some puppetry animation, which I do realize in flash is more or less just tweened animation but whatever. Animation aside I just tried something fairly limited and am relativley happy with how it looks. Yes I know there are plenty of problems with feet sliding and what not, its alright. Puppet walk |

G'day jon! Great concept you've got here, but watch the legs... they slide back as the puppet walks. Try to keep the feet planted as the puppet moves along. Thats all i see that needs improvement. Good Work! byby |

You know what I reckon would add comedy? If you added some highly exaggerated down motion on the legs and some snap at the arms, like she's doing a crazy hybrid walk mixed with the 23 skidoo  It's playing in my mind now BTW, who is the girl?

Also, if the lizard moves around the tre eon such a horizontal plane why can't we see any of his body peek around the left side of the tree? It could also be nice to see some nice whip or snap in the tail as he just gets around. Pretty nice though! |

Im going into animation for collage so in the future here im sure you will see alot more of me doing animation as for now i really enjoy painting in photo shop and am trying to get better with it! Oh excuse me didnt see your post folville. I was going to do that right and make him come out the other side of the tree but i insteed decided to just have him go down the tree so where he gets off is actully on the side you cant see. If i were pursuing a longer animation i would have had it jumping off the tree from the left angle. That was my original intent except i desire to keep working with PS more right now then my animating. I only really animate when i got a hour between school and work. Hope that answers it for ya. I had some time here before work and i worked on the movement of the lizard in my animation. Its legs dont slide around now it actully looks like it moves! Dont hold it against me of its not the best in the world but hey its not bad! Crits if you desire. http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=t...thlizardvo5.swf |

Cool! Much Better!
As I said before
I've also done an animation, It's not quite finished but everyone who has seen it loves it, so...It's a short battle between 2 "Blobs". The red one is not very good and the silver one is an expert. In one part the animation goes slow...I tried to do slow motion but failed... I did'nt know much about flash when I did this but I hav'nt gotten that much better :P. So here it is: --POW-- It's name (as you can see) is --POW-- I'm continuing the animtion, so maybe on like "page 25" there'll be a completed one maybe sooner maybe never...maybe even longer, but hey! -Wiz |

That's very......creative of you....
Nah just kiddin' It was prettey good nice animtion and drawings. There's one thing though...that there is so many black lines infront of our eyes that it is hard to see all the cool things that are really happening! But as you said "Celebration". I can understand that, I do it alot aswell. Well I hope to see more "celebrations" soon. untill then -Wiz

G'day Y'all! I have posted this before, but i have altered it this time. i haven't but the physics side into the hair, but i have taken out the claws, and the inbetweens just to make it look like its running faster. I will be implimenting it into my animation as soon as i figure out how to do an explosion correctly. Buzz Running Could anyone help me with the explosion? i want to make it so there is a title that is showing up then it explodes out toward the audience because 'Buzz' is running through it. I just need help with the particles and the trajectory of each particle. Thanks a Bunch! byby |

That looks really good man, especially for traditional. Just going through your frames one by one, I can see at around frame 7 you have a rogue frame, it sort of jerks in the other diffection ruining the flow of the cycle. Other than that it looks awesome. Did you happen to use Preston Blair's Movement of the four legged figure for reference? Looks very nice.

no i used my dog as a reference, just quickly sketched a few key poses and then turned them into a wolf shape and took picutres of each frame and imported them to flash.. but im haveing trouble to get it to run smoothly, any guides out there i can steal? |

Well, here's the Preston Blair version I was talking about if you want to give that a look over but it looks as though you're almost spot on anyway. Other than that I would say to make it a little smoother perhaps fix the frame I was talking about before and add one or two extra inbetweens toward the end, although, I don't have much experience with four legged walks/runs so it would be good to see how you go. |
