Hi, me again! Sorry if you feel bothered but I got a new animation doodle. Yay... http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hopptestpm2.swf After crits from my cannon doodle I made this little dude jump. And I thought about squash (mm) and stretch. It's maybe not enough squetchy but its an improvement! ... right? Oh well, tell me what you think.

That's what this thread was created for. We get bothered when you don't post. By the way... what frame-rate are you using in your animations?

I use 25 fps, mostly animated in twos. That's what I learned in animation class so I'll stick to that I guess Before I used 30 or something, but that was hard to get it all smooth and not going too fast.

Nice walk cycle zorg. I took the time to study a sink dripping. So, I decided to experiment droplets out of sink for the hoey of it. GOOD STUDY=GOOD ANIMTION Droplet EDIT: Woops, droplet is spelled wrong, my bad. |

Both Y and Z scales are filled in the bouncing ball animation. Next comes the rotation/squash n' stretch. |

Yep, that's a great little tut, Dave; it reminds me of a scene in Aladdin when I first saw that effect used. It was just after Aladdin and the genie get out of the cave, and Genie exclaims, "You're down by one [wish], boy!" Right there he shoots out his hand, and it rattles like a wooden plank or a diving board. Anywho, great stuff.

Calco, that run cycle doesn't look very good i'm sorry but what you need to work on is inbetweening that, plus i don't think that people kinda fall back like your character just then did. Oh and also make the arms go from behind the character too the front and keep his back straight and not make it fall back. Just a little critisism k. |

You did fine calco. He looks like hes dancing, but, I dont blame you, this is only your first time and it's REALLY hard to get something good juist like that. I say; practice, but I agree with Zorg on the arms part tho. |

Hey guys, haven't posted here in AGES! I've had a bit of computer trouble and lost all of my animation .fla files just recently which was really disheartening, but I finnish high school in about a week so I will be posting more often. Calco - I think Zorg and FLUDD are right on. I think you have a little bit of frame trouble, I cycled through each frame manually and at the end you have the same frame twice which can make things a little jerky. Also, don't be afraid to use reference - I know Zorg was talking about the character falling backward sort of; I actually think this adds character and you should stick to it, but the leg movement isn't conveying forward motion (check back a few months and my first frontal walk cycle, it's exactly the same). I know I've posted this before but it's really the best reference I could find online: ![]() more here... For me, I found it great to just try and copy the frames exactly, and then once you are confident with the movement start adding your own quirks. Enjoy the pen replacements!

Here's an animation I made the other day:Bigfoot Attack I'm pretty new to animating in Flash (previously I had used SWiSHMax), so it's not very good.Constructive criticism would be nice. |

Looks pretty good, mate! I literally jumped back in my seat, I wasn't excpecting the attack! I like the blurry background! Not much to say, except, maybe make the bigfoot's movement a bit cleaner, I can really see the frames. Keep it up! |

just something i did here before i go see the departed. Birds feet movement are blah and i should make the mid section of the transformation hair a bit edgy (sings in a umpalumpa voice err however you spell ompallumpa err whatever!) Enjoy Enjoy my little little film. http://img179.imageshack.us/my.php?image=b...nimationnl0.swf |
