Thanks for your critique Humble, and I think all of your points are valid. Keep in mind that this has nearly double the frames and half the time that went into the dialogue sequence, so yeah, not really a stellar example of my work. In regards to pacing, would you have held the looking pose prior to the jump longer or what? Next school semester is two-character acting, so there's still going to be more 2d work from me this year. Lots of time to try again.

Something needs to go here...........
|
It's pretty good. Got the cartoony effect in the smoke pretty down pat. One crit: Your projectiles that go up on the right and left just kinda go outwards in a straight angled line, then disapper. Make them fade then die out or make them drop a bit to the side or something.
Looks nice just you need more moonlight reflection on the water cause you have the stars twinkling away but as the reflection. Spread the twinkles out more and have an actual reflection of the moon but moving ever so slightly as if the breeze is just moving the water. |

brakken, use thinner lines when drawing and use faster strokes to avoid the clumping and lumpiness. nice joke though. explosion test http://img293.imageshack.us/my.php?image=camanchepg1.swf |

The blades of the helicopter seen from the side looked to be rather inconsistent, but otherwise a very fine animation, vador. |

thanks Max! (heh, my name's max aswell) The reason for the thick lines is that I just opened flash and started drawing, and the outcome looked like a grunt (the little orange dude) and then I got that idea. Oh, and excuse the high voice for the Master Chief, I couldn't get the right pitch, so I did that instead. Looking awesome bobert! |

Lookin good Bobert, but maybe you should make the reflection of the moon more inline with the moon itself? Seems a bit odd the way it goes off at an angle. Nice work though.

Lookin nice all, Bob, maybe you could add a linear gradient on the sky, the solid blue is a bit boring. |

bobert, ever think of optimizing your flash. one main reason it runs so slow is that you have unneccesary (sp?) things in it. remove the glow on the moon and just do a white fading gradient behind it. same effect, less lag. and optimize some things, like the cloud and the reflection mask. http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=c...4.swf&width=320 there's the heli anim with a preloader to help reduce lag. |

Looks quite nice. By test do you mean you're going to work it some more or just more of a quick experiment just for fun? Because I have some crits if you answered yes to the first one  |

Well I was going to say that after the 15th or 16th frame, maybe even a little earlier the legs seem really confusing. The character seems to recover too quickly, you know what I mean? I reckon a quick down motion would help to show him pushing off a bit more to pick his speed up again; And right at the end I think accentuate him flinging back even more with his arms and everything (which I noticed you did nicely at the start). Are you going to clean this one up at all? I know I never do  Too lazy  edit: Quick little walk cycle Crit if you want, I probably wont change anything (disregard the frame rate). It was just to loosen up after not using flash in a good while.

Nice work! You're a good animator. The only thing I can see that looks a little weird is that he takes too short steps in the running, but that is probably how he runs.

I believe your monkey needs more swing, especially since hes jumping so fast from his starting position. I'd also give a better arc to the second swing as well instead of trying to avoid another drawing by using the transform tool. Oh and yes, clink, he does get up to fast and easily, you're right

G'day Y'all! It has certainly been awhile since I have posted anything here. I should put this in the "Whatcha workin on" thread, but seeing as it as only an animation test. I think its rightful place is here. It is a test to see if I'm capable of animating barbed wire wrapping around a hand. I think it has turned out pretty well. I'm yet to do it on a larger scale, i.e. around the whole hand in a particular pattern. C&C welcome. Cheers! byby |
