A couple of animation tests:

Obligatory bouncing ball

Walk cycle

Same, but walks across the screen and not in place

I'll try to move away from stick figures now.

Edit: My biggest problem as of now I'd have to say is my lack of planning. All of the animations I've done so far were done without much forethought into what exactly I was going to do, and so the animations suffered. Not so much the case with the walkcycle, but the bouncing ball and the animation I posted on page 41 were entirely unplanned.

My fourth paper animation!  This is not only the longest assignment I've done (almost ten seconds, 120~ drawings), but it's also my first with two characters, changing leads, etc.  I tried out a lot of new things in this one...  and some things were less successful than others.  Crits please.

The theme we had to work with was "friendly."

Thanks for hosting, Arthur.

Friendly Animation

Wooooo!!!--- more Angimation!! :bing:

First of all, I'd like to claim the credit as first person to find the secret in your clip:

The rest was hilarious!! You captured the spirit of the feline perfectly... With the pawing and stretching mannerisms, especially. You must've really worked your ass off pushing those poses, too!--- they look GREAT. :)

One thing that popped out to me was the pairing or near-pairing of the arms. It's not bad enough to detract from the animation, but you should note this for any future work:

I would also say theres a few too many frames of the main character in the one position before the cat hits him.

It's funny, because I was afraid it wasn't long enough. But you're not the first to make this comment. Thanks for taking the time to look. :bfoot:

I would argue that the last pair isn't a twin, but the other two are damn close. Thank you for pointing this out; I honestly never noticed. Actually, I think his legs right before he gets hit is the most shameful twin of this animation.

Nice try, but the dingleberry is a smear. :bing: Easter eggs, hmm... If you loop the first four frames where the humanoid character starts to shake on the right side of the page, you get some nice humping animation from the cat.

As far as major mistakes go, I noticed that his belly grows slightly right before he stands up. So far no one has noticed except me. :ph43r:

Two walkcycles. Well... at least I'm getting some tablet practice out of this.

Kind of broken...
The legs seem to be moving pretty smoothly, but the arms...
Same as above, but across the screen

Been following this tutorial to make these. Maybe I should actually read it instead of just copying the poses?
Yeah, that would probably help.

Something I'm working on...

It's kinda very rough at the moment... hopefully I'll have the energy to clean it up a bit before I start working on the rest of it.

uhm your waterfall looks kinda choppy maybe you could get it to be smoother somehow..
and yeah for your spaceman I think you should just colour him and shade him with a grey tint.. and keep working on those asteroids :P

Good animation Evil... but he jumps back waaaay too far to be convincing, add some more umph when he jumps by lowering the frame count at the release right before he goes airborne, and have him lock into more of a "pre-jump" pose.

Keep it up!
