can you tell what he's saying?

Meow?

Pretty good... the tongue jumps around a lot, though. Maybe you could work on making it look less jumpy.

Yeah the tongue is a little jumpy but it has to touch the roof of the mouth to make the "L" sound

I did a movie which can be found here. I'm still working on the second. It's sloppy slightly on purpose. The simplicity is supposed to give it a kind of style. It's not crappy. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/316756

That was pretty cool, way better than my first newgrounds animation. You should add a preloader though.

G'day Y'all!

I got yet another assignment for Multimedia class.

Heres the task:
VCE VET Multimedia Authoring Task 1
Flash task

Flower Power
Adrian Miller is the proprietor of the Flower Power Nursery. He wants a series of 3 Flash movies to include in his new website. The three areas he wants to highlight are
ˇ Climbing plants
ˇ Water features
ˇ The Flower Power Café

You are to create an interactive Flash movie that allows the user a choice of which section to view and enables them to go to any other section. Use ActionScript carefully so that your buttons work and the framescript works. You may create the objects (flowers, ponds, coffee ect) in Illustrator or Flash or both. Your planning is an important part of this and you need to provide evidence of your decisions in your planning document and your visual diary. You should investigate other garden sites to see how similar products are handled.

Technical and design notes
Use the skills you have in creating buttons that interact with movieclips to create this work. Think carefully about the way your buttons look and the way that your elements are arranged on the stage.

Criteria for assessment
Expressing ideas and information
Form and style are appropriate for the purpose audience and situation
Information and ideas are well organised and effectively communicated
Techniques and processes
The work reflects mastery of all technical skills/procedures
Problem solving
Accurately predicts and explains problems
Identifies strategies for investigating and resolving problems
Planning and organisation
Can work within a given timeline to develop the product
Application of underpinning knowledge
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of key concepts
Effectively applies these understandings in the completion of the product

Hand in
ˇ Your planning document
ˇ Your fla and swf movies (upload these to WebCT)
ˇ Reference work and thumbnails in a section in your Visual Diary

And here is my first draft, which is my final copy because I want to move onto my own animations and test my skills in brilliance :D

Have fun with that!

Umm............................................................................................. :worry: :gasp:

Thing about colours and position of the pictures. Also think about what is actually in the pictures... It looks as though u have just slapped a load of pictures on the canvas and then used disgusting colours for the text and backgrounds of the buttons. Use a distinct colour scheme. Not every colour u can possibly think of.

E.g. Maroon, White, and colours inbetween those

Etc.

In my honest opinion, it needs a LOT of work. Look at other websites to see how they do.

Thanks CLiNk...

Yes I have...I used to work at Disney...But im relatively new to Flash

That explains a lot, you seemed very skilled for a new guy
-------

Onto my thing - I'm looking for a few people to make some very small recordings. I'm wanting to practice lip-syncing since its come up here a few times recently and I really haven't ever tried it. So, here's what I want if anyone is willing to help.

*Two, maybe three people to record a simple line but in different accents (I think it will be cool to animate the differences). At the moment I'm thinking an Australian accent (which will be covered by me), perhaps US or Canadian and someone from Eastern Europe.

Any ideas?

HERE is a very quick lip sync test I did a couple days ago to get the idea down before I forgot (its not even finished). Nevermind the part about "scrunchy bear" twas the first name that came to mind. Anyway I hope to make a flash cartoon about these teddy bears in a semi violent manner but nothing like happy tree friends or that other one I forget what its called. And HERE is a sort of concept picture I drew for the guy I did the quick lip sync for.

That was cool, the voice reminded me of someone in the mafia.

I tried my first frontal walk cycle, she's a bit messy - CLICK IT!!!

Also from my last post I'm re-thinking the American accent, I just don't think there will be enough difference between Australian and American. Maybe Irish or Scottish would be nice :D

A while ago (almost a year, actually) I got into this Altered Reality collab on Newgrounds. Since people dropped out of the collaboration, I offered to do another piece for the collab. This file is both parts combined into one. The second half is the older half, which is why it doesn't look as good as the first half. I also don't have the origional music file, so there's a small blip in the sound between parts. The rest of the collab isn't finished yet, so I'm just showing the parts I did.

You need a smoother movement at that frames where the foot reverses, right now it's more kick - stomp - kick - stomp -...

Thanks Alero, the recording would be very simple, something like "Hello Mr Jones, have you got any new comics today?". Basically to help me understand lip-syncing with emphasis on different accents. That's why I asked for someone Irish or Scottish in place of a North American; The difference will be greater.
If you want you could still record something for me, doesn't look like any Scotts or Irish are interested :D
-------------

For Rubberhead, I told you I would fix it right away, so here ya go:

Frontal-Walk #2 - This is attempt #2, still very awkward but some improvement no?
Frontal-Walk #3 - And we come to number 3. This one took a while, had to sit and think about it a lot and there's more inbetweens, hope this one is better, I think it is. Very slow though.

Here's all of them side-by-side for comparison. (bit over 85kb)
