Sam you are just getting better and better! I love that second walk, its ... jazzed :P

Btw, I've got a response to you saying that was me being hit by the ball in your animation, it's just taking a while, and it's sorta jerky.

Yeah, he's supposed to be jerking around a bit but a few more inbetweens wouldn't have hurt. I'm trying to experiment with walk cycles at the moment to get more life and personality into them. I'll post another few later tonight.

edit:

This one's unfinnished:

ah very very nice, any references?

I had the ASK beside me for that 3rd one that I didn't finish. My arm swings are a little rusty. Other ones, just experimentation.

hey, boggle... maybe if you squash his whole head a bit, the anticipation would look like a bit better.

Clink, I am totally serious when I say that is one of the best, most convincing double-bounce walks I have ever seen. Good sense of weight. I really really like it (the second one).

For all the them, watch your consistency. The feet especially tend to shrink and grow. Also, the frames where the ball bounce is stretching, it almost seems to be stretching towards a spot other than where it actually lands. I think it's because you're using a straight shape for a motion that actually curves (an arc).

Wow! Thank ye! :D Yep, spot on with the ball bounce, I went through it very quickly only using the default free transform tool instead of redrawing, I don't know why I was in such a rush. Boggle has pulled me up on the feet a few times too I think I need to slow down and work slower to keep my volumes consistent.

Been too long since I've done a walkcycle, so I decided to do one today. Just experimenting a little with the low and high positions:

Maybe I shouldn't be animating at 24fps right now when I'm still learning the basics. So much of my time goes into drawing the inbetweens... Wouldn't it be better if I spent my time doing other animations instead of making sure my latest animation is buttery smooth?

Echarin, your legs are shrinking and growing. Your arcs are okay, but I'm going to take a blind guess that you didn't draw them out. Otherwise, you're tight. Nice motion, good weight and timing.

Uhm uh... it's perspective, but you can't see it because the legs are just sticks.... yeah, that's it. That sounds believable, right? Right!?

I'll try to remember to keep an eye on that in the future.

I know this is short notice, but I need to reshoot all my 2D stuff tonight for demo reel-ing, in other words, uncompressed and sharp focus. It was the only time this week I could find enough time to get into the labs.

You can get the file here, it's about 20mb. The first one on the reel is old, the last two are new. I'll fix any animation mistakes, missing frames, general weirdness, but nothing major like staging.

Hello,
Here's something that I made like over a year ago and this seemed the proper place to post it, the sad thing is i'm still satisfied with it. :gasp:
splosion

Note:It's supposed to be a lot smaller, but the flash version was all blurry.

It's good but with an explosion it starts at one side and spreads out where's you have everything all at once, yes make it go quickly but maybe take give it some smoke or make it more spreadable.

@anghenfil>I wanna look :( but I can't

Unfortunately, the files are no longer available. They may have expired, or may have been downloaded more that the maximum number of times
