nice :P I like the shots you used, better than just a guy walking across the room. Are you going to add any more sound? Cuz I'm just assuming that he goes back to the card because it makes a noise when he puts it down but I'm not entirley sure. I take it it's in storyboard but the opening shot needs some colour and perhaps a few winks to the fact it's december (ie snow/christmas trees), unless it's a point that you don't

Apart from that great, good animation, good use of shots. Can't wait to see the finished product :D

EDIT: His reaction is the reaction i give whenever I get a musical christmas card :P

@-nelson- wow! I love it!

maybe, but I suck at character design, so maybe not. I will definitely try, though, to add a body.

It looks damn fine for your first countingsheep. Try and emphasize the up and down motion a little more on your next try to add a little more weight.

Deuce, that looks great man :D

I'm not sure if I took your suggestions to literally, but he now is a bit bouncier, and I tried to add more weight to his movements, mostly by adding more inertia to his hands. I also smoothed out the shoulders more, squared the hips better, stopped his torso from being so jittery, and fixed a miss step on the green foot (angles for a second frame when it was front foot).

EDIT: A much brisker walk this time.

EDIT EDIT: This animation brought to you by lack of sleep

I like it, and I think it has good atmosphere, but the blades of grass/misc. foliage in the foreground of the image seem kind of glossy and plastic-like. I think you could improve them by making the highlighted edges show only only the upward facing, moon-oriented sides. :D

Yeah, and try lowering the amount of blur, I think that should make it more realistic.

A short Prince of Persia style FBF. Took about an hour. 15 FPS, 77 Frames

EDIT: I drew out the level first and maneuverer the guy through it during the animation process.

EDITEDIT: Heres another. 15FPS, 60 Frames but took about 2 hours.

Thanks. Heres another. 15 FPS, 94 Frames. Took Aprox 2 hours.

I've never really tried FBF before so these, aside from some random moving lines, are really my first experiments in it. I thought they would take longer to make then reposing a stick figure but surprisingly they are much easer. Next one will be something a bit more complicated.
--------------------------
EDIT: Building Jump. 19 Frames at 12 FPS. Took about a half hour. I'm going to spend more time on it and smooth everything out but this is a rough concept of what I want to make.

hehe, I never really had any respect for stick figure animation until i gave it a try myself. Then I saw that when done properly and with a decided intent, it can be quite time consuming. I think your PoP animations have excellent, bold, sweeping action that's really easy to follow and enjoy. Nice work!

The "Building Jump" could use a little bit of smoothing out, but I think that at the top, where I assume the first person viewer is to be running, the action should show more noticeable steps (i.e. heavy shifts of weight from left to right to accommodate his footwork).

I intend to back it up more and add a few extra jitters. I'm also going to draw out the building with normal lines since it will be easer to get the perspective and then trace that to make it much smoother.

-------------------------------
EDIT: This is quickly turning into the "Sheep really needs to get a job thread"

I remade the entire animation so it took about an hour this time. About 15 minutes for the strait edge animation, then 45 minutes of retracing. Instead of going through and trying to bounce each frame to mimic a stepping motion I grabbed the VCam and converted the file to a Flash 8 doc.
