I would suggest having the trails of smoke stream out ahead of the main cloud. The main reason they are out there is because they are faster than the cloud of expanding gases, so make 'em faster. Is the explosion on a surface? What is exploding? On planets like Earth, explosions can be very generic. In space a lot of different situations can call for different things. And watch the smoke and flames. Unless you have oxygen floating around in the area, there won't be any fire. And defending upon whats exploding, there would either be a large dust cloud(Asteroid, planet surface, anything rocky or sandy. Perhaps even a large dirty snowball) or just some hot metal fragments(Spaceships, space stations, things that are made of stuff that snaps and bends). |

got the first frame and last frame drawn, motion tweened a bunch of individual lines over the first frame, then moved the lines to make up the cat on the last frame- and i know some of it doesnt hang together very well but it was just an experiment |

I think it would be best if it started out looking spikey and moving very quickly away from a small center. Then, when the individual puffs get out farther, have them become puffier and less sharp (for a good example, watch the end of the yuyu when bitey is jumping through the clouds, that's how I learned) |

Hey, I havn't been on this thread for a while! Nice stuff everyone! Really good for your first flash! And I agree with Brakken, TopHatWonder! My brother figuered out how to put a webcam movie into flash so I tried it out: bleag Yes..that is me! I also did this randomly to try out a new type of animating where the character moves into different poses for the words they're saying: Clicky! Hope you enjoy them!

The music is from John Butler Trio.
Adzy-2k6, that looks pretty good! Although, note that balloons do not have much weight, therefore would not bounce as high or fall as fast. |

I went through that frame by frame with the forward and back controls and I noticed there were lots of frames where nothing happend. I reccomend cleaning it all up and filling in those gaps. Also, when it hit's the ground make it flatten a bit at the bottom to show the shape of the ground. Apart from that, you have some good bits in there but it's a bit rusty. Good luck

Ye, i agree, i was thinking more of a water balloon when i was animating
ye, i see what you mean. I put it in doubles on 24 fps, although i may have well just used 12 fps on singles

Here are two pieces I made, both are getting older and older. 1 1/2 - 2 years by now... anyhow, if you like ironic, gory flash animations, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiwRHqaoyGs and the end of the live action piece, which is packed with TONS of crazy compositing work and violence, check this one out, starts a little slow, but yeah.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXaAsUYXKNE Feel free to comment either here or on Youtube, and enjoy! If you liked those, you can go to www.youtube.com/villainousturtle to see all my silly crap and there is a playlist that runs all 5 parts of that film Mindless Destruction and a making of... Thanks for watching, if you do! |
