The Old Man in the Woods

Well, it all starts out when I drove to my cousins house in Suffern, New York, and we stayed there for 2 months. It is located in a heavily wooded area so his house was in the woods. I was 14, my friend, Josh, was 14, and his brother, Jordan, was 17. After the 2nd month went by, me, my friend, his brother, and their mom were in the car in a pitch black night. We were all sitting in the back of the car when their mom drove to her fathers which was a mile away house to drop off some magazines. She had her brights on and Jordan was out cold, with his headphones blasting. Me and Josh were playing madlibs to pass the time. I then noticed a tall man, who looked as if he were wearing a thick coat far out in the woods. He had a big hunch for a back, and he looked in his 80's. Obviously, this man stood out from all the trees and, because of the brights mixed with the night's darkness, his shape was odd. I told my friend and he also couldn’t understand what it was. When their mom came back in the car, we told her what we saw; she couldn’t explain it.
The next week, Josh and Jordan's parents were in New York for 2 days and were going to be back tomorrow. We were watching the television, which faced a large window. There was a huge power outage due to a lightning storm. Josh, Jordan, and I camped out in front of the window because it was a full moon; that's where we had the best light. As we talked, Jordan noticed the man in the coat and asked Josh if that was the new neighbor that moved in yesterday. We told him that we was that guy a week ago in the forest while we were in the car and you were sleeping. The man stood still in our driveway, his silhouette as big as 3 men. We stared at him, and he stared at us. Then, out of nowhere, the old man turned around and ran into the woods as fast as a police car in chase. We were terrified at this, but not Jordan. He wanted to see who it was, because he was a brave basterd. We were stupid back then and looked up to him, so we followed him outside.
It was terribly dark, nevertheless the moon light lit our way. Josh brought his video camera and videotaped our whole trek. We started calling out to the woods for the old man to answer. Me and Josh were shivering like crazy and nervous beyond belief. We ventured to the edge of the woods and yelled out into the darkness.
"Tell us your name!" I yelled. We heard a twigs snap, a low growl, and pointed our flashlights at a solitary point, about 100 yards away. We saw the back of the man, his head turned and before we saw his big yellow eyes, Jordan yelled, "RUN!!!" I don’t know why he did, but due to the intensity of the situation, we did. And we screamed like crazy. As we ran frantically, like a bat out of hell, to the staircase that led up to the front door I felt like throwing up. We locked the door and took refuge in the closet. We heard large snaps and cracks as we hid in the closet from an unknown menace. We were so scared, Jordan clutched an ax, Josh wielded A metal bat, and I grasped an old rusty saw. We slept in that closet.
I was the first to awake, and when looked out the window of the front door, I saw that our trash can was blown open and trash littered the driveway. Our car had a big dent in the back of it too. When their parents came home, we didn't tell them that we went out side. We did tell them that we saw the man again. We convinced that we didn’t do anything to the trash can or the car, because of the obvious damages. We called the police and what they said scared the hell out of all of us. Lots of people had called because of their trashes had been violated too. Also, a bear had been caught that night by animal control. :gasp:
The three or us reviewed over the video that Josh had filmed. We saw that the old man was actually a bear, because we could see the snout as the bear turned his head. We vowed never to go outside again at night if we see an old man in a big coat.

THE END.

And im not kidding, this is a true story!

Well, it was really dark, the bear wasnt in front of the car, it was actually quite a bit away in the deep woods; the headlights just reflected off the trees. He was very hard to make out the first time, he just looked like a guy walking through the woods. Geez, even the notion of that is scary!
