I woke at about 2. The whole house was silent except for the slight clicking of my cieling fan. I can remember thinking, " It's bloody hot in here! Why the heck is the fan not working like it's supposed to?" This caused me to throw my covers off and decide to get a glass of water from the bathroom. I tip-toed across the hall, trying not to wake my sister. I turned on the bathroom light and closed the door. The room stood quiet and still. Nothing could be heard except for the beating of my heart. I wondered how an old house like mine could remain so silent. I listened closely, sweating, listening to the nothingness. My sister grunted ever so slightly, making my heart jump. I stopped staring and quickly turned on the sink faucet. I cupped my hands and gulped down a hand-full of dull-tasting tap water. I wiped my face with a towel and turned toward the mirror and stopped dead. I saw a reflection that was not mine, but a bloody mass that stared blankly into my eyes, its eyes were thin and long, and seemed to be crying. I began to breathe heavily, my eyes enlarging to the size of golf balls. The reflection did the same. I tried to scream but I only wheezed. I wouldn't stop looking at the reflection. I couldn't. I began to get really hot, like when you just saw a horror movie and your lying alone in your bed at night, your covers are covering your whole body except for one eye, keeping watch for the aliens. I broke into a terrified run, slammed the bathroom door, ran across the hall, and jumped into my bed. I closed my eyes and started whispering , " OK...OK... ". I gritted my teeth and slowly opened my eyes. I could see across the hall to the bathroom. All that was visible was the yellow bathroom lighting through the cracks of the door. I creaped off my squeeky bed and began to walk slowly toward the bathroom. Silence. Continuing to walk, I grabbed my left arm. I had my head turned away from the bathroom, but kept my eyes on the door. I continued to walk until I reached the door. I slowly moved my hand toward the handle. I couldn't open it. My hands were frozen with fear. My face and ears burned; my heart beat so fast I wondered if it would suddenly stop. I bit my jaw down quickly, closed my eyes, and crashed open the door. I opened my eyes and burst into a tears. The mirror was broken, and inside it was a bloody room. I saw myself hanging by a neuce, my face was battered and scalped, and below me a rusty chair. Any feedback would be nice. Thanks for reading! Cheers! PS: I made it up. It's not true...haha...I just think it pretty scary... |
