With depth and darkness did the lake of light lay upon the land. And Jimmy gazed upon this majestic lake. As he glanced back at the approaching slaughter he knew what he would have to do. The zombie horde was fast approaching, he raced around the lake and the the zombie were almost at the edge of the lake when he reached the other side. Luckily for Jimmy the zombies could smell him easily, why is this lucky you ask? Well while zombies can smell brains very well and can sense obstacles, they are at a disadvantage with water. The zombie horde headed onto a peninsula and slowly marched into the water, some noticed the destruction of their fellows (for the lake of light is deadly to all of the undead) and turned around only to march into the lake's alternative shores. soon over 7/8ths of the horde were sent into the lakes depths to forever march in the land of death. amongst them were Jimmy's long time companions: Micheal, Joseph and many more. With 1/8th of the zombies left Jimmy had to think fast. With his woodcutting axe he cut himself a simple raft and floated out onto the lake, but the zombies were cautious now and were too careful to be pulled into the lake. Jimmy got his axe and made a carefulcut along his left fore-arm, as the the blood fell from his arm, the zombies went wild; the smell of free-flowing blood driving them to extreme lengths. The smell of blood is pure instinct to zombies, "it's wounded - easy meal" and "we're low on time, hurry (zombies love fresh, preferably living, flesh)" are just 2 things flying through their head. At the smell of blood the zombies abandoned the vague concept of caution and charged right at the source of the smell; a small raft on the lake of light. not a single zombie escaped that day. As Jimmy sat on his raft on the lake a realisation dawned on him; he was a marauder, an undead slayer. As he realised the implications of this he took out his axe of sun (a mighty battleaxe), held it above his head and swung it back until it struck him in the back. Jimmy fell forward and tumbled off the raft into the deepest point in the lake of light and was never seen again. The legends speak of a day when all the dead will rise and so shall all marauders. The only survivor was a small child who saw it from a tree deep in the forest and was lucky to escape to tell the tale of the 8000 zombies who attacked his village and the one man who slew them all. |

The shadow in the darkness...

the story was great you must have a lot of practice wrighting, one thing though it seemed a little too easy for Jimmy to win and as Srf said, why did he kill himself. |

I won't lie, I don't get it at all. The concept is cool, I guess, but maybe you could take a little time to develop the story more? |
