With a couple of days to spare since finishing the latest big freelance job, I've put my head down and nutted out some serious Sarus (srs srs!!).. The dictionary now has 1100 words (so far), which include all the plurals of the 3-syllable nouns, and grammatical variations on adjectives and verbs. On top of this I've begun to fill in the 4-syllable grid with words in a general system of classification, which should make it quite easy to remember the words.. for example, dfl = man dfld = Mister, Sir dflr = Master, Lord dflt = men rfl = father rflm = King rfls = God rflt = fathers This way, you can see that each 4-syllable word has a "root" word of 3-syllables. Note that the reverse=opposite rule only applies to the first 3 syllables.. Therefore: rflm = King lfrl = Queen There is also a slight shuffling, adding and deleting of Sarus words as you know them. Here are a few of those changes.
While talking with otherGuy about the overhaul, he suggested that I release it as a WIP so that we're not waiting forever for auld chluaid to finish the work. I think that's a great idea, because you can use it right now... any additions or changes I make along the way will be minor and by starting to use it immediately, everyone will be helping the language to evolve. More to come.. |

i am sort of confused how you will be able to tell the difference between a three syllable word the is plural, for example tmt-air and tmtd-airs, and a non-plural four syllable word. will there be a way to tell the difference or is tmtd it, nothing else? if you don't understand what i am saying then don't worry... i have a hard time getting my ideas comprehensible... i'll rewrite it if necessary

as far as I've been able to tell, there are no 4-syll words currently conflicting with a pluralized three syll word. Adam seems to have thought of that (props++) and in the dictionary he added pluralized 3-syll words AS 4-syll words likely to avoid that exact problem. The more I see the more I'm convinced that Adam is a friggin genious... and add the fact that he takes time to answer so many of our empty headed questions, and you start to see why he is deserving of such a loyal following. Disney has no idea what they've lost. |

Actually Disney knows EXACTLY what they lost. Adam taught Flash to Disney animators. He mentioned it once. I still didn't get an answer thought: is rfls THE God (JHV) or a god in general? |

I thought you were joking which is why I didn't answer.. it's kinda obvious isn't it? Why would Jehova be part of the Yuyu or any other Brackenwood language? They're not Hebrew over there  *edit* also, the fact that the opposite (lfrt - goddess) should have been a clue

Yes, but DOES it refer to A certain god or CAN it refer to A god (of many). I'm an atheist here, so don't think I want to make some stupid, philosophical debate. |

With its 3-syll root (father), it basically means 'universal father'... it could also mean 'great architect of the universe', or 'the one who created all things'. Not a specific god or diety, but a word used to describe The Creator in any faith. lfrt (goddess) is the female equivalent.. basically meaning 'universal mother', but can be used in reference to 'mother nature'. (Lemonee Wee's natural magic calls on the powers of Laefryt) |

The Sarus 2 dictionary is just a .swf file.. if you're using IE, you should find it in your browser cache. There's also a print button on the Flashpaper interface, so you can print all 20 pages if it takes your fancy

Well for starters, why not? Also because publishing documents is so much quicker and easier using Flashpaper.. especially when these days my entire working life revolves around Flash. Other good reasons include the search function, the zoom function, the print function, the internal scrollbars.. ..and let's face it, anyone who follows my animation work and wants to learn Sarus is going to be no stranger to .swfs - or at least have the browser plugin installed, right? |

My cousin and I printed out all twenty pages last week, the day we discovered sarus.
I hadn't thought of it before until I saw the God/JVHV comment, but what kind of religion do they have in Brackenwood anyway? |
