*NO INFORMATION HAS BEEN RELEASED AT LARGE TO THE PUBLIC OF RIS'MOS*
Only those directly involved should be aware of the current events. There has been no evidence of a virus discovered yet, it isn't even a solid theory yet. The newspapers had reported mysterious disappearances of vampires before there was a gag order issued to the media.

The Vampire Epidemic
Due to a strong member support, we have started the rumblings of a vampire epidemic. This is a global event, meaning all members and all citizens of Ris'Mos will probably be affected in some way. This page has been created to keep track of everything in the global plot. At this stage, there is no knowledge of a disease at all. We are slowly discovering incidences via the Vampire Emissary's office, including disappearances and mysterious deaths. This page will be for updates and information about related events in Ris'Mos during these strange times.

The Disease: (Taken from the discussion topic.)
Basically the humans have started an undercover project in modern times to cure vampirism. They start kidnapping vampires, which end up being reports back to Rosaline's office about missing vampires...which have been taken as test subjects for this new 'cure' both willingly and unwillingly. This "antidote" however, is a harmful virus...that never got out of testing stages.

What the virus does....after incubating for a set amount of time, is strips the vampire of the power...first starting with weaker vision, weaker mental ability, even slowing the vampire down as far as agility goes....in essence, doing everything to turn the vampire human. The problem with the virus however, is that it does not recover all of the vital systems needed for human function...and, the older the vampire is, the harder it is to bring everything back to what it was at the age of turning...so some vampires have even less than others. Systems compromised depend on the vampire's age, and their fitness when they were turned. So for a few days...weeks...whatever (we haven't decided yet) the vampire lives as a human again...able to be in the sun, able to do everything that a human can, with no supernatural powers. (Some might view this as a blessing of course). At the same time, any ailments that the vampire had as a human will return (arthritis, asthma, etc). It is at this stage of the disease that some vampires escape from the government agencies creating the disease. They're the ones who spread it to the rest of the vampire population. Thus the epidemic. With these vital systems 'turned on' again, the disease can be spread through the air...with sneezing/coughing/etc. And the disease would be mutated.

(Note: To get your roleplay in this list, please PM it to Rosaline)

No News is Good News - More reports of mysterious disappearances and deaths are brought to the Emissary's office. A gag order is placed on the media.

I went to sleep a vampire and woke up alive... - Rosaline is called into the Ris'Mos hospital to learn about a case of a man who came into the hospital who had appeared to become human again. Jack is brought into the game as Rosaline's Medical Adviser for the strange deaths and now strange incidents.

At least I woke up a Vampire - Leon comes to Roz with information about a Pharmaceutical company who has been responsible for many kidnappings and killings of supernatural creatures. An angel has been kidnapped recently, but there are no ties to Vampires at this time. Rosaline wants nothing to do with it.

Operation Breakout - Leon is still planning to rescue this Angel, when Roz comes to him with more information about the pharmaceutical company, Abraxis. Rosaline still does not want to make any rash moves, while Leon reveals he is leaving in a week to rescue the angel.

Trust - Leon finally convinces Roz to go to Abraxis with him to rescue the angel.

Dark Meetings - Lucifer, after hearing about the virus outbreak goes to seek out the one responsible. (Note: This RP has taken place ahead of time. The outbreak has not been published yet.)

    How can my character interact?
Vampires can become infected, die, flee/go into hiding, go into quarantine, or luck out and be unaffected. In order to be unaffected, you need to submit a logical reason as to why your character can not be affected. Details about a quarantine will not come until later in the storyline.

Other species can interact as well. Friends and family of vampires have a fairly obvious role, seeing a loved one go through such tragedy. People will be needed to help the sickly, work in the hospitals, etc. Others may just be the bystanders watching on the news and saying "oh dear." And still others might work for the humans in their quest to "cure" vampirism. If you do participate in roleplays concerning the epidemic, please PM Rosaline with the link so that it can be added to this page.
