Brief Description: The kitsune are a race of bipedal, omnivorous, foxes. They are covered from head to toe with a warm, soft fur. They tend to keep to themselves and are very protective of their territory. They've been around since the beginning but tend to keep to themselves, and can become rather violent to anyone whom they thing is trespassing. They give birth to children like any normal mammals and live in clans, however the birth rate is rather low as they live for quite a long time. Upon birth, a baby kitsune or kit, is given a birth name and takes on their clan name. Their birth name being their first name and their clan name being their second. Upon their first tail day, or one hundredth birthday, they are given an earned name. This third name usually tells about some accomplishment or defining characteristic of that particular kitsune, often having double meanings. Physical Attributes: The kitsune are usually a bit shorter than humans, average height usually being about four and a half feet to five feet tall for males, and four feet to four and a half for females. The tallest kitsune recorded was six feet tall though. Kitsune fur can be any color in the visible spectrum and most have a lighter secondary color on their chest and belly area. Each kitsune is born with a single tail, but grow another tail every one hundred years up till they have a total of nine tails. Any kitsune with less than nine tails is still considered a child. Kitsune eyes are always the color of natural gemstones such as emerald, rubies, sapphires, ect. and give off a soft glow in the dark. Kitsune prefer loose fitting clothes and often go about without footwear. They are excellent metal shapers and can create some very nice armor and weapons. Since they are very isolated, their current technological skills would be about the same as feudal Japan. Common Powers: Every kitsune is able to change between their normal bipedal form and a full fox form. They keep their unusual eyes, multiple tails, and oddly colored fur in both forms so they very rarely are able to be passed off as a normal fox. They all have the ability to see in the dark thanks to their unique eyes. Kitsune also have great senses of hearing and smell, and some can even smell magic. Most kitsune are quite agile and speedy, making them excellent at spying, scouting, or even assassinations. Magical talents are common among the kitsune, usually the ability to manipulate a particular element. Humanoid Form: A kitsune's natural form is their humanoid form. They wouldn't be able to pass off as a human though as they are covered in fur, have glowing eyes, and multiple bushy fox tails. However, given a disguise they might be able to pass off as human as long as no one gets too curious. Comon Residance in Ris'Mos: The Kitsune live in the icy area of Ris'Mos. Their fur keeps them warm in even the coldest winters. They enjoy the harsh climate, as it keeps other races from bothering them. They live in large crystalline structures that grow from the ground there, giving their settlements an eerie but beautiful look as if they all live in giant jewels. These settlements are usually in the mountainous area of the icy area, sometimes even underground in large caverns where entire cities exist. They use these crystals for all their buildings. They even create large greenhouses with the clear crystals, trapping heat in buildings to grow crops in their icy home. They also tend to tap into geothermal currents to heat their homes and cities. Any kitsune that can control the elemental powers of earth are highly regarded as Earthshapers, and take an important role in shaping the city by growing the crystals in which they all live in. Other Notes: History in Ris'Mos: The Kitsune have had very little to do with the shaping of Ris'Mos history. They tend to keep to themselves and expect others to give them the same courtesy. They are very protective of their homeland and will try to get travelers lost in the snowy ice lands. If they can not get uninvited guests to turn back, they will usually find some way to kill the trespasser. Those that are actually invited however will find the trip easy going with a guide. The Kitsune race do very little trading and as such are considered an isolationist group. Their current technological standing would be about the same as feudal Japan, though they do have strong magic as well to make up for this. The Kitsune tend to enjoy playing pranks on other races, especially humans. Occasionally they travel to the human world, usually Japan, where they will mess with humans for fun. The Kitsune really don't have any enemies or allies due to their isolationist attitude and lack of apparent valuable natural resources. However in reality they have vast riches stashed in their underground vaults, as the icy mountains are rich in jewels. *This Breed Entry was originally written by Tetroneaque* |
