I agree with everything everybody's saying so far. (And, yes, I do understand that I'm one of the "iffy ones" as well. I'm on for a few weeks, something happens, and then I'm mysteriously gone for who know how long. Point is though, that shouldn't be your problem. Besides, it would keep me on my toes! )I sorta' like the post idea to be honest. (Good idea, Leon!) I don't know if I can contribute much to this, but I think the "absence" period should be long enough to *know* the person is gone, like 2 or 3 months, and maybe an e-mail should be sent (if the person has given an e-mail address) the first time it looks like they are going to be deleted. The second time, no warning. Demotion seems better than deletion, though. Then, if they are still gone, they could be deleted later. These are just my opinions, though. |
