I find it wonderfully ironic that theres an add for the "miss teen usa" competition at the bottom of this thread. Go google for picking out key words and advertising thus far. What gets me the worst is that shes getting away with all of this cuz she's pretty. Its not just beautiful is superior, it gets you what you want...so girls will strive for this...with the false hope that they can get what they want because they look good. But its not just beauty pageants that are emotionally damaging either, its child modeling and child acting and all of the like. Look at Miley Cyrus trying to emancipate herself from her parents because they weren't cool with her having a 21 year old boyfriend...and Disney stood behind her. We're raising divas, not little girls. And one day when these girls DON'T get what they want its going to be just as emotionally damaging, because they'll end up the one time someone says no, she won't know what to do. |
