Not sure if I'm actually allowed to post in this place...>_> But, I was wondering what you all think about the presidential elections!! I know some of us are 18 and are able to vote, and I was just wanting to know your preference: McCain and Palin (VP) or Obama and Biden (VP)? <_< And...yeah. Why do you like them? Does one of them have more experience than the other? Does one have an opinion about something you agree with (for example, missile defense or greenhouse gas emissions)? Does one just seem cooler than the other?  I'll save my opinion until later, methinks, but I'm definetely in favor of one of 'em 99.9% of the way. Another question: do you think that the electoral college should have the final decision in who is president? Or do you think that we the people should have the final word? FYI, the electoral college is the group of people that vote on the president. It doesn't matter if one gets the popularity vote; the other candidate can still win presidency. I personally think that's kind of wrong. Seems like we're on a leash and don't even know it. Lots of people I've spoken to of didn't even know the electoral college decided in the end. O_O And....BEGIN DEBATE! (but keep it polite, guys. I'm strongly opinionated about stuff, but don't be going and flaming around, mm'kay?) |

(Of Course you can post debates!!! <3 you for doing so!!! lol) Personally...I don't like either candidate. I didn't even love Hillary (Until she dropped out) but now, I wish she was back...I've been getting so many forwards and emails about all sides. And, although I don't take it all for fact through email, theres some things to think about... First of all, on the experience issue. In an email I received, it said that Obama's only had 143 days working in the senate building....and like...it put it in perspective. After 143 days of a job, some people are just getting insurance...you can't go from peeon to CEO in 143 days, so why is it ok to go all the way to president??? Secondly, I don't love the way Obama carries himself. He's like the cocky teenager who feels like no one can touch him...He's going to other countries to do meet and greets, and preaching about change, and the enthusiasm is great...but you can almost tell, (like with a cocky teenager) that theres a hollowness to his promises, other than the "all politicians lie" promises. At first, I was really for him, thinking "well we need a younger opinion in the white house" But now, after listening to him speak...its very much so like..."THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!!!" As far as McCain goes...I couldn't disagree more with half of his beliefs...BUT...He's at least got the wisdom of old age on his side...He seems to know when its appropriate to hold his tongue. For example, he was on Ellen a long time back...and when she asked hiim his views on gay marriage, he said something like "you know, this is something we're not going to agree on, but I respect your stand point..." but he said it MUCH nicer...and...if he can talk his way out of that situation...he can probably do better diplomacy...And, he'll do it on his own. I personally believe that Chaney has been the puppet master for 8 years...because theres no way dubbyah could have thought up half of his statements and actions...he was just convinced it was right, and then the meaning was lost in translation...because Chaney lost control of the mouthpiece for a while...McCain is going to go head first into it, and scrape off his skin cancer on the concrete. I REALLY know nothing about Biden...but I seem to have taken a liking to Palin. And I know theres HUGE controversies surrounding her...but nothing can hurt her as bad as "SHE TRAINED WITH RADICAL MUSLIMS!" in my eyes. She really seems like a no nonsense sort of people...and she's going to get things done. (They may not be what we want done...or what we like, but they'll get done...) So, I seem to be going with the Republicans this year. At least for now. My tune may change. May I sum this particular election up? Excessively old dying warmonger with the anti-feminist vice president Vs. The light handed, progressive with the Sane Vice President who'd make an EXCELLENT president himself. Neither have a very high probability of living, given that:

I am just going to skip voting, and pray that Obama/Biden wins the election. Oh, and There's really nothing negative about Obama except for the fact that he'd never use nuclear force, even simply to retain "M.A.D." So, yeah. The US has been condemned to weakness since Mr.Clinton cut military budgets. |

Nothing wrong with Obama??? What about the fact that he won't show a birth certificate....? The one that he submitted is fishy and they were like "can we see?" and Obama is like "GTFO!" I'm sorry...you give your soul to these elections...let them pick at you with a fine toothed comb...and let the people see what you're about. Unless theres SOMETHING TO HIDE! I'm just waiting....Mythos, you've got one to tell your British friends before our next president comes up...we've gone from electing someone who was statistically, literally, and all around retarded....to NOMINATING someone who's not even a proven citizen of this country. GO. US. I don't trust Obama....did you see him jumping all over McCain in the debate? Yeah, lets do that when we're talking to Korea about NUCLEAR WEAPONS....lets cut them off in conversation and not let them make their full statement so they can do it with ACTIONS instead of words. And...how can anyone be reliable when they've only had 143 days experience in the senate? Seriously........after 143 days at any job you're lucky to get a 5 cent pay raise...and we're going to put him on our ballot??? I don't care if he's black, white, asian....or PURPLE....he's not qualified to do the job. |

Are you trying to say that Obama is a Space Alien? If a Birth Certificate exists, the FBI (Or perhaps CIA, and DEFINATELY the NSA) already has the original. If he were an "enemy combatant" the NSA would have killed him already. I personally think he's just a pawn to get Joe Biden into office. He's not going to survive six weeks anyway. |

I'm saying, that Obama isn't honest. How can you trust someone if they don't want to show you something as simple as a birth certificate? Its a trivial document that has your birthday...and WHERE you were born...like...really. Is he embarrassed that he was born with a tail or something? Get over it and give it up to the people, because thats what you're sacrificing being in public office. There is no privacy in PUBLIC office. Also, you are the only holder of your ORIGINAL birth certificate, copies may be in the governmental records, actually, I'm sure of that but...only the one with the name on it has the original document. Obama's hiding something, and its not Joe Biden.... |

Amusingly enough, my point is, Obama is a Trojan Horse. He's a way to get Joe Biden the black vote. There's simply no way to get Joe Biden into office any other way, as far as I can tell. He's the real candidate here, Obama is... Perhaps he's a Clone or artificial life, and that's why the Birth Certificate is fishy; it never existed in the first place. As far as McCain goes- He's not REALLY another Bush. He isn't. But, Palin is evil. |

Im gonna say this sweet and simple. Both Obama and McCain are gonna get us killed no matter what the outcome of the election. So we all might as well enjoy the time we have left cause we are all gonna die before the 2012 thing and if we dont 2012 will kill us so screw it. Im not sadistic I swear. |

this election came down to "who do we want as president of the United States: Biden or Palin?" it stopped being about Obama and McCain a whiiile back. i voted for Obama and i am proud of that. i am even more proud that he won. BY A LANDSLIDE! D: i am the only liberal in my entire famlily and it has finally payed off. lol. and sabe, i am with you. december 2012 we're all dead. lol. stupid mayan calender. lol. |
