Okay, so Kai and Anok at least saw this coming, I'm sure. And, anyone in the forum games will see this and be like "Ohes..." Anyways, I'm wondering if I'm the only one here who likes Phil Vassar. I know y'all aren't like HUGE country fans to start with, but I dunno. Those of you with more diverse tastes and don't' stick to one genre, might be different. Anyway, Phil's a singer/songwriter who plays piano like a crazy fool. He started out in Nashville as a song writer for like Collin Raye, Jodee Massina, even Alan Jackson. And then somebody went "Hey why aren't you singing these?" And he got his own record deal with his songs. So like, now, he plays those songs at his concerts and has some of them on his CDs. <3. Anyways, as some of you already know. I saw him in concert (for the second time) last weekend, and got to meet him. HE WAS SO NICE! And I'm like so smitten. And I feel bad about that, but like...I LOVE his shows. He gives his musicians a chance to each do a song and showcases them. And I LOVE that, being the daughter of a musician, I know that they get little credit, but since Phil's a musician, he knows all that and like...he's REALLY about the music. Like, you get that from just listening to his music. And I'm totally aware he could have been superficial, but...growing up around musicians CONSTNTLY, that wasn't the vibe I got... Anyways, if you're looking for some good piano/rocknroll/country sounding sorts of stuff...give him a try. I recommend "The Hot Tub" song for a good giggle. My absolute favorite is "Dancing with Dreams." Which...I told him Sunday. Tehe. And he was surprised...and I think its because its like an autobiographical song. But if you're looking for something pretty with just piano and pedal steel guitar...he's got a little taste of everything in his music. |
