Swindler

-His brother killed those who were closest to him, trying to drive out the "Greatest power he could" from his brother.
-He keeps his encounters with others fleeting, until he's sure that they won't be killed for knowing him.

Family:
-Father, name unknown, deceased
-Mother, name unknown, deceased
-Eldest younger sister, name unknown, assumed deceased
-Middle younger sister, name unknown, assumed deceased
-Youngest sister, name unknown, assumed deceased
-Elder Brother, Albion Amado Cornelius, alive and active, location unknown

Physical Description:
The first thing most people notice about Samuel is his height. He stands nearly 6'8, which is imposing. Or, at least it would be, if he didn't take after his father, with a slender build, no matter how muscular he gets. After realizing his height, people often drift to his eyes, a brilliant, almost impossible blue, the blue of cobalt pottery. His black hair hangs around his face loosely, trailing down as far as the top of his shoulder blades, about three inches past the top of his spinal column.

His skin is pale, almost to the point of being true white, as if he hasn't seen the sun in ages, or his blood has left his body. This paleness is offset by runes. Large lines run along his skin, tattoos of a sort, ranging from an inch thick to mere centimeters. This networked tattoo has a history and a purpose, in fact. (Not visible in character artwork.)

He almost exclusively wears a single outfit, washing it, if in fact it needs to be washed. His shirt is black, baggy and of faded cotton, and his pants a pair of quite high-quality leather slacks, dark brown and well-worn, topped with a black leather belt, showing signs of age that most belts never make it to. These articles both resemble things that could be seen centuries ago, but are only as old as twenty or thirty years.

In addition to this, he wears a pair of black leather boots, heavy and designed for working construction sites, right down to steel toes. He covers this entire outfit with a heavy black leather duster, and hides his face under a wide brimmed hat, both appearing to hail from the era of the American West, though the odds of this are slim to none.

On his left hand, he wears 3 silver rings, enchanted to collect momentum. He wears a pentacle around his neck, as a good luck charm, though he knows it has no significant effect in any event. He claims that the weight around his neck is a familiar thing, and that it was important to have that feeling of weight to ground him in a world where the heavens clash and the dark is often stronger than the light.

Personality:
Samuel is a deceptively wise person. This is probably due to his age, and the fact that he looks decades younger than he really is. He is also calm and level-headed, even faced with stress.

In contrast, he is rather meek in the face of strong-willed women, reminded of his mother, who not only had the strongest persona of anyone he's ever met, but capable of entirely shutting up his father. Exceptions are made along specific racial lines, which he bases on the "sentience" and "animalistic" qualities of the woman- He'd be intimidated more by a human woman than a vampire, for example.

He has a tenacious desire to protect not only those he cares for, but all living beings. This springs from his brother's slaughter of those closest to him. He is looking for his brother, hoping to prove to him that he is strong, now. A little brother his big brother can be proud of. He is NOT an Avenger. He is merely a hurt little brother.

He will use his talents in such a way to extract money from a situation, and such is capable of manipulating the flow of exchanges in his favor, such as using confusion to allow others to pay him for a transaction in which he was obtaining things. The willpower of the other is the biggest factor of this talent, but average minds are very vulnerable none-the-less.

Skills:
-Magical talents-

His primary talent lies in the manipulation of "force" and "momentum" based magics. These skills range from concussive blasts, to upheavals of terrain in clumps via pressure from below. There are a couple of defined spells in this family, along with others with less specific definition. This is the only form of magic he can use without a focus.
--Extracting latent energy in the air, and directing it, a blast of pure force can be shot at the target in whichever direction it's needed. Can be used on a much smaller scale for different applications.
--Using stored energy in an object such as a ring enchanted to collect it, similarly, it can be released in a fairly directed blast.

He has also expanded this power, using a pair of elegant tanto knives, covered in runes along the blades. These knives conduct the energy from his powers, allowing him to attack things that no normal weapon could strike, and increasing the cutting power of the weapons at the same time.

The runes that cover his body slow his cellular reproduction, but facilitate a more thorough generation of new cells for a longer time. This effect creates a slower aging process, but also slows his healing. It effectively negates the usual toll on a lifespan from healing magics. The effect would be broken upon the loss of a limb, as the pattern would be rendered incomplete.

He carries a walking staff covered in runes similar to those upon the knives, Which he can use as a focus to control and manipulate wind on a minor level, as well as enhance his natural control of force.

He owns and carries within his coat a cane sword that has runes as well, which can manipulate the currents and flows of electricity and lightning, though with this he has very little control, instead giving it a vague target and hoping it hits home.

A necklace he wears around his wrist as a bracelet holds a small shield-like pendant, which he can use to create a semi-solid barrier, as a defense against solid objects and some magics, but not energies such as heat.

While his talent at mid-range is quite good, his close-range combat, even aided by the knives and cane sword, are merely proficient. This is because he has spent very little time on them. In addition, when not guzzling adrenaline, he is no stronger or faster than an average human, and his physical endurance is limited, as his tolerance for pain is low. He also tends to drift out of shape occasionally.

History:
From a young age, Samuel was quite gifted to have parents who were still young, even by human standards. They cared a great deal for their children, and never chose a favorite child, treating them equally. When Samuel's powers began to develop at an unusually young age, they did what they could to facilitate that, and nurture it- His mother's specialty of rune craft and his father's craft of magical item development did a great deal to reign in his own power.

As he came of age, his powers manifested more concretely, and he finally became able to learn to control and use them. In addition, his father found it worthwhile to begin him in courses of creating magical items. His first creation was something he worked on very closely with his father- a shielding charm that was fueled by the proficiency of force- a semi-solid magical barrier that reactively defended against physical assault and actively defended against mystical barrages.

A few years later, his last sibling, his youngest sister was born. He was, at this same time, becoming an adult. His brother had already left the nest, and was coming back for a visit, when the strange words first came from his brother's mouth. "Become stronger, brother... Make me proud..." It had said. The voice was terrible.

A few days later, he told his father this story, and his father looked terrified. His father sent the elder girls, 17 and 14 at the time, somewhere unknown. Then, he sent his wife and the youngest girl away as well, also to an unknown location.

Several days after this, Albion returned. He was carrying a bowling bag... He had dark, hateful eyes and a scowl that scared Samuel to his bones. His father told him to run. Samuel waited until his brother dropped their mother's head from the bowler's bag. He and his father both engaged the man who they had once called family.

As the fight drew on, he and his father showed no distinct advantage against the single adversary. The fight drew on, and slowly Samuel's father realized that there was no way to win. He told Samuel to run, and the fight lulled. Those words again.

"Become stronger, brother... Make me proud..."

He's been running, getting stronger, ever since.
