Character name Jack Thomas Age: 25 Species: Human Job: Resident Doctor Relationship: None at the moment Family: Only distant family. Mother died in birth and Father died of cancer when he was 24 Description: Jack stands at 6 foot and has a soft kind face, helpful in his profession, his hair is medium and black and normally well combed and straightened. However on the occasions where he doesn’t straighten it, it can run wild on top of his head. His body is just the average body of someone who is in shape and not unfit. He is a rather unimposing normal human male. Personality: Jack is a very open and friendly person perhaps too open at times. He is also warm and welcoming and tries hard to make friends with other people. He always seems very cheerful, he’s never upset for long as he deals with things quickly and accepts them rather than miss the days by brooding. He has always been a scientist and as such is still very inquisitive. Skills: Jack as a human has no remarkable traits apart from his brains, he is a very astute and smart young man; passing his degree with a distinction and top of his year. He is a fantastic surgeon and excelled in his university class. His memory is his strongest trait as well as lateral thinking and being able to think up creative solutions to problems or remember things he learnt years before. History: Jack was born in San Francisco due to illness and complications in the birth his mother was lost in his birth it hit has father hard but his father used it as a way to turn his life round and came through as a wonderful single parent. Jack grew up there and excelled in the sciences this made him the school outcast in younger years however in high school he was accepted well but choose his friends and didn’t stick with the popular crowd who he found too fake and two faced. When he got to college he studied the sciences still deciding he wanted to study medicine at university. His lecturers all recognised his skill and recommended he apply to some of the more prestigious universities. He didn’t apply to Princeton or Yale as he didn’t want to go there and find when he came out he had developed an ego too big to make friends with, he did though apply to Columbia university in New York his modesty making him think he would never get in. When he got the letter of acceptance his father applied for a transfer in his job to the New York office. A transfer which he was granted. While Jack did live on campus he enjoyed knowing his father was close by and often visited home, and visited even more frequently when his father was diagnosed with cancer. His father while getting weaker and weaker had already exceeded his life expectancy. He even made it to Jack’s graduation where he graduated with a distinction. His father died that summer holiday while it was hard on Jack the fact they both knew it was coming made it easier on them both as they had their chances to say goodbye and deal with the pain as it developed. Jack took on a residency at Lakeside memorial hospital in that first year of his residency he was called out to a scene of a man who had collapsed after being stabbed. His symptoms were so serious that the call had gone out for him to meet them at the scene not the hospital. He was in the back of the ambulance working on the wound when the man said the knife was poisoned. The symptoms however did not fit any poison he knew of. The man kept clutching at him saying he had to go back, go back through. Jack had seen the look of delusion in people’s eyes before but this was not it, this man knew what he was saying and Jack against his better judgement believed that the man did indeed know someone or something that could help him and made the ambulance stop. He was told if the man died he would lose his job and his degree but he still left the ambulance with the man who insisted the others stay with it. Jack walked with him until he collapsed again, the man pleased with him to take him back, so jack picked him out and carried him down the alleyway he pointed out. It ended in a brick wall, but the man told him he could go through go through to where help was. Sceptical Jack eyed the man, who picked up a stone and threw it through the wall. Jack taken a back wanted to ask so many questions, but seeing the mans pale and sweaty complexion walked through into Ris’mos where the guards on the other side took the man away. Jack refused to go back until he knew his patient was alright, and so with a rather intimating escort was taken to the witch and watched as magic healed the man. That was 2 months ago and now he visits Ris’mos on a regular basis understanding more of its history its species and its way of life. |
