I personally, am not a reader. The books I've read for fun, I could count on two hands. And the last time I read a book for fun, I didn't finish it. So this is who's saying that a book is beyond amazing.

I am a total nut over the Sookie Stackhouse Novels (Or the Southern Vampire Mysteries) by Charlaine Harris. The story is set in a time where vampires are "out of the coffin" as they say in the book. They are a legal minority, and are fighting for their rights as citizens. The story follows this girl, Sookie who can read minds. She has gotten some control over it, but she calls it her disability and can't help it sometimes. Then, this vampire comes into the bar she works at. AND SHE CAN'T READ HIS MIND! So she gets all excited, and infatuated and so on...and when the vampire comes to town, so do murders and all sorts of trouble. Sookie gets wrapped up in the vampire culture and all sortsa things go on. Since she's a "special human" her traits are desired by the vampires and so on so shes in all sorts of adventures. Its win.

They turned it into the HBO series True Blood, which some of you may be familliar with or have at least heard of. I'd heard of it and was like "Oh I should watch that." Then I was walking around the co-op at school and saw this book and was like "hmm this seems interesting." Bought it, got half way through it, went back, bought the 2nd and 3rd book, and went out and got the 4th and 5th this weekend. I'm only almost through 2 now, but I'm so excited about the series that I had to get the others so I won't run out and have to wait between books. Theres 9 books in the series, and a book of short stories. I LOVE the books. I do not love the TV show. I did not read because of the tv series. I watch it mainly because...although Bill is not as handsome as I see him in my head...he's quite attractive. And they've screwed up his plot so much that I need to watch to see what they do to him (protectively, of course). I don't blame the actor, Stephen Moyer is great, I blame the writers. Cuz they totally screwed up Jason too.

I'm in love with Bill Compton and I claim him now before anyone gets the chance. Y'all can fight over Eric, Jason and Sam. :D
