General Forum Rules OOC: The OOC is a place for us to sit back and relax from the stresses of Roleplaying please no fighting in the OOC we do not wish to have probelms between users News Bullitiens: Anything of importance on the site will be posted here, if something major happens or we are making major changes this is where you will find out. This area is reserved for Admin posting only and would ask that if you have any comments about bullitiens to mention them in the ooc. Please read the announcments in this forum. Double Posting As enthusiastic some of us may be to stay on the top, please keep double posts to a minimum. Patience will pay off and someone will reply to you eventually. Signatures Your signature enables you to be creative and individual. We encourage you to create a signature. Please uncheck the "Enable signature" box when posting in an rp. It cuts down on some of the confusion and makes rps clearer to read. *Since we do not have an advertisments forum for other websites, if you wish to advertise your site, we encourage you to put a link or mini-banner in your signature. Multiple Accounts and Secondary Accounts We are putting a limit on 2 main accoounts per email address. We define a main account as your first account created. This character has an indefinate lifespan. Under each main account we allow 3 secondary characters. Secondary characters are defined as characters which have a relation to the main character and typically (but not always) have a lifespan. We understand that at times siblings may share an email address. If this is the case, please contact and Admin to get permission for a third main account if nessecary. You need 25 posts on your main account before you can create 1 secondary character, 50 posts on your main before a 2nd secondary character, and 75 posts on your main before your third secondary character. Post Counts Its not really a rule, but we do have a bit of a forum standard. Since promotions are based on in-character posts, thats the only thing that totals one's post count. Posts in the general forums or journals do not up your post count. Role-Playing Levels of play: All members at all levels are welcome. We do ask that you try to keep to a 3 sentance minimum in your posts though. Character Bios Before any member starts rping we ask that they create a Character Bio that way we know what sort of creature we are dealing with and what powers and such that you have. We thank you for your Cooperation. If you want to post character bio, powers, history, appearance, etc. please post it in the Character Bios section. Start a new topic all about your character and have fun with it! You do not need to create a new character for yourself any longer though. If you are truely in a writer's block you may select a character to portray in our "Sub-Characters" forum. Certain terms and conditions apply. *Note: More than one character on an account is allowed. You must be specific with witch character you are using in a Role Play and you must be able to keep up with the characters that you create. You may only become emissary with one character, and you need to have 50 in character posts with that one specific character. (Example. Character 1 has 25 posts, character 2 has 25, the member does not qualify for emissaryship. Character one has 25 posts, character 2 has 60 posts, character 2 applies for emissaryship and character one is no longer eligable.) Post Length: Even if you are new to roleplaying we ask that you please try to post semi lengthy responses a minimum of 3 lines please so that we all have something to respond to. Fighting and violence: We do not look down on it and actually encourage it, fighting and violence can make a role play topic even more interesting and fun so please feel free. However, you cannot control what happens to another character in a fight, you can say you took a shot at them or punched, slashed, whatever, but they control if it hits and if it does how injured they are from it. This does not mean however that you can never be hit, no one is that good and you must be able to be injured and take hits in a battle to make it fair and dont godmode saying you took a direct hit and didnt flinch, i dont care who you are, you can be hurt you wont just take a punch and not flinch. Also you cannot kill a character in an rp, if you wish to get rid f your characters let an admin know and we will come up with a solution for you character to leave Ris'mos weither by dying, being buried alive for all eternity, sucked into a freak black hole, or a ripe in the space time continuium. We'll come up with some way. Main rule of fighting roleplays: NO GODMODING Sexual content and Swearing: We allow both however keep the swearing to a minimum and for courtesy of other players mark all sexual posts with Xs before and after, Example: XxTopic namexX Participation All roleplays are open to all members unless otherwise specified. Open roleplays are placed in an index in the RP Request forum and considered open to everyone unless otherwise specified or an admin or mod is contacted to edit the index.
Any Roleplays that are inactive for 20 days or more will be closed. Exceptions apply to this rule when one or more members in the RP post in the "Aways" section with an excused abscence. Live RPGs Live RP's are when someone decides to open up a chat room (on AIM, YIM, MSN, etc...) and schedule a time to meet with other members to do a live rp. We do encourage and accept these as RP's for the site. Live RP's must be scheduled in the "RP Request" forum, and in order to be re-posted on the forum, they must comply with all forum rules. There will be no moderation on these RP's. The responcibility of moderation then falls into the hands of the creator of the Live RP. We ask that the creator of the Live RP create a base plotline, including the location and events surrounding the RP. Any Live RP's that you wish to repost in the forum for everyone to see, must meet the following requirments.
Each species will have an Emissary of its own. The first character of each species to reach 50 in character posts (In Character Journals do not count towards this number) will be rewarded with the title Emissary of (insert species name here) and will be allowed to live in large house in the diplomatic sector of the residential area of Ris'mos city, they can particiapte in Meetings of Emissarys that take place in the castle and will have a say in how the World of ris'mos is run. (not the board but the rp world of Ris'Mos) If interested you must show this interest by PM'ing an administrator after 50 in character posts. *View the Emissary Information forum for more information. Absences Away: If you are going to be away for any length of time please let us know here, we dont like thinking our memebers have abandoned us and wish to know when you will be gone. Inactivity: While we do not look at inactivity as that great a crime we do prefer that you try to stay as actiave as possible, we will not delete you but we may ban you til you until you return and send either admin a pm saying you will be active again, thank you. If we dont Temporaraly ban for inactivity we will temporaraly turn your character into a Khon Tun and you will not be allowed to travel or post outside of the portal at the area we assign you to. The length of time you will be a Khon Tun will be equivelent to however long you were inactive, For Example, If you are inactive for 2 weeks you will be a Khon Tun for two weeks, This punishment will only go into effect for those who are inactive for 2 weeks or more. We will though, have a monthly member cleanout. If your account is inactive, you will be deleted unless you have made prior arrangments. After a month of inactivity, the account will be banned for 2 weeks, followed by account deletion. The character will also be taken offline. If you wish to come back with your character, the admins will restore your character, but you will have to email an admin. If you know you are going to be inactive for some reason, please let us know in the "Away" forum. Posting in the "Away" forum will give you immunity to the Khon Tun punnishment and being banned. Also, if it is possible, please PM the people you are RP'ing with. This is not a requirement, only a request. Employment/Shopkeeping We have many jobs that can be actively portrayed in the world of Ris'Mos. If you pick a job that is able to be active (Journalist, Emissary, etc.) We do ask that you keep up with your obligations, just like a real job. If you would like to be a shopkeeper, you need 25 posts. Once you have 25 posts, you can request owning a shop in the "Help & Sugguestions" Forum. You will then become moderator of a seperate forum in the marketplace. If you do own a shop, please dedicate at least one topic to your shops description and items for sale. Species Lounges There has been talk of creating Species Lounges on the forum. This is a large undertaking, and we are unsure if the idea will be successful. As of right now, there are no species lounges created. In order for there to be any created at this time, we have come up with the following requirements.
It is currently undetermined wether they will be in or out of character. Punnishment Repetative rule breaking will result in punnishment of member accounts. Punnishments are taken out after complaints, or after a staff member notices multiple offences. Our staff takes many things into consideration when taking out punnishment for certain offences. We are fair in our punnishment and stand by our actions. Repeat offenders will be deleted. Note: You may notice that not all roleplays fit these rules, some have been grandfathered in by previous rules, and members should check the rules for changes. Changes do not take effect until one week after they have been posted. |
