 Character Name: Luminitsa Torsmeil, Lumi (pronounced "loomy") for short Age: 317, but physically looks to be in her early 20's Species: Dhampire Job: vampire hunter, freelance musician Relationships: None. Family: All deceased. Physical Description: Luminitsa lives up to her name's meaning- "little light." She's around 5'8" with a slender build, much like a dancer's- small but athletic, muscles taut and ready to go. She has fair skin and light, crystal blue eyes. Her hair is strawberry blonde, often with a slight curl, that goes down to her stomach. It's usually just left down, typically unbrushed and unkempt. As far as clothing goes, it's an anything-goes type of deal. She wants something comfortable and tight when she's on the hunt- something practical. It's not uncommon to see her in men's clothing. She'll wear what she can get her hands on. The only thing that ever really stays consistent is her black combat boots that lace up to the knee. On occasion, when she's feeling particularly twisted yet confident, she'll wear her mother's wedding dress when she goes on the hunt. It's the one thing of her mother's that she kept. Personality: You'd consider her to be most eccentric, and a little bit off the loop, if you will. She's not really stable in mind, but she's quick-witted and extremely intelligent- crafty as well. You have to be, if you're in the vampire hunting business. You'll find more expression in her eyes than in the rest of her face. She tries to keep a lockdown on her emotions as much as she can. She's a very introverted type of person, and prefers to be alone. She'll use people if she has to; anything goes, if it's for the sake of getting the job done. Her one true love is music. She plays just about any instrument under the sun, but her forte is definitely the violin- the one she plays belonged to her father. When she's particularly upset and maiming vampires doesn't do it for her, she'll put all her pent-up emotions into her playing. She does feed, but only once a month, and she feeds psychically. Generally she feeds off a crowd if she can, or at least a small group of ten or twenty people. It's less draining for the victims and they're less likely to notice anything. Oh, and one other thing- she hardly speaks. Often people wonder if she's mute. Skills: Lumi does indeed have your basic vampire package- incredibly attuned senses, more strength than an average human, more speed and agility as well. She's also very skilled with her gift of empathy and telepathy. But her hunting skills are the most impressive. She's been hunting for a little over 200 years. Occasionally, but very rarely, she will team up with another hunter. Most of her hunting is done in New York City and Boston. Her main goal is to protect humans, humans like her father. Her weapon of choice is the crossbow, but on occasion she will use a sword. However, decapitation is found to be "messier." She likes a clean and simple kill. History: Her mother, Donella, was a vampire. In her younger years, shortly after she was turned, Donella came across a band of gypsies. One of the young gypsies among them was Andrei. The two fell in love, but Donella had kept her darkest secret from Andrei, even after their marriage. But somehow, Donella did indeed become pregnant, and at first it overjoyed the couple. But as the months continued on, Donella found her thirst to be more and more tempting. She had been feeding psychically, but she was always more of a sanguine. The thirst became too great to bear. One night she attacked Andrei, took too much blood, and accidentally killed him. The next morning, one of Andrei's friends went looking for the couple. All he found was a freshly dug grave by the lake, Andrei's favorite spot, and upon it laid one of the many rings that Andrei had given Donella. The band quickly moved on and ignored the disappearance of the two. When the baby was finally born, three weeks after the death of the father, it was named Luminitsa. Luminitsa is a Romani form of Luminita, meaning "little light." It was Andrei's pet name for Donella. Donella raised that child on her own, teaching it basic needs for survival including proper shielding techniques for psi feeding, luring victims, and thousands of other things. She also helped Luminitsa with honing her gifts. However, once Luminitsa reached the age of 24 and Donella knew she was fully prepared and fully matured, Donella killed herself. The rest, Luminitsa keeps to herself with a polite smile on her face but a menacing look in her eyes. |
