Character Name: Druen

Age: 27

Species: Centaur

Job: Trained as a fighter.

Relationships: None

Family: None that he knows of.

Physical Description:

A cloak of coal fur surrounds the lean, powerful muscles of his equine half. Legs that are long and thin, stockings of white fur lick up the lean legs ending above his knees. His human half, pale from the little time spent outside in the harsh of the sun. Despite his lifestyle he bears no scars of ill battles, having gained a few nicks in his life but the beings he lived around knew some information about herbs to reduce the scarring, having to be relatively scar free to prove he was of some worth in battle.

Hair, the colour of his coal coat, shimmering a faint blue in the sun, its length slipping behind his back, the ends lay draped over his withers. Hardly is it tamed, tied back only when his vision is needed to be un-hindered. His eyes, a harsh colour of shaded grey and blues, mixed together in a flurry of colour.

Personality: Duren is rather quiet, having not been in the company of talkative beings for most of his life, he is more likely to give you a nodd or grunt in response to most matters. He is usually a calm creature, taking some time to get fired up and is quick to lessen his anger. Certain subjects can cause his anger to flare quicker then most, what those are you will have to find out.

His wild side, not a rare sight but still not common to see can be something that can only be discribed as Beastly. He seems to loose all sense of reality, becoming more like the wild equine he is attatched too, his actions become unguarded and jittery. This side usually follows periods when his hyper activity becomes uncontrolled or if his anger has flared for too long, too quickly.

Skills: Skilled in combat, his choice of weapon being a spear, light and easy to carry whilst having the added throwing advantage. His tracking skills, though having been unused for some time, are finely tuned as well as his hunting skills.

History:

His herd, more feral then human, based its laws more on the equines then humans. Once reaching the age of three, even before he was able to fully defend himself, he was chased from the herd by the lead male. For a few months he lingered close, keeping the herd in sight but not too close as to become a threat to the lead. As his curiosity grew Duren ventured further and further, comming across a road and following it untill he grew bored of that.

A middle aged man came across the young centaur, coaxing the rogue closer with offers of food. As long as the man continued feeding Duren he stayed close, following the man like a puppy as he travelled the roads. He picked up on some speech, listerning to the man as he spoke of stories and pointed out things during there time together. Duren was slow to learn but once started picked up the dialogue quickly. The pair travelled into town, despite Durens uneasy nature towards groups of humans he stayed close to the man. A festivel was held days later, Duren was pursuaded into entering some that relied on hand to hand combat, despite being untrained Duren managed to over come some of the toughest compeditors.

After the games Duren and his travel compainion were approached by a old nobleman, he owned men used to fight for money, Gladiators as they were called. Duren's fighting blood still pumped widely and he accepted the mans propsal, defying his companions words of concern. It turned out to be a extremely bad idea, the nobleman used Duren's innocence to his advantage, he exployted his angery/wild side to use in battle. Duren found himself unable to escape the man.

Living with the other men was not all bad, he picked up much needed information about the world from the others, some quiet learned in life and able to teach the young centaur a great deal. While on the road his master allowed for 'free time' allowing Duren to run along side the caravan or go hunting in the woods, boning up his hunting techniques and providing fresh meat on the long trips. Duren was with the nobleman for years, compeating in battles and earning his master some great deals of prize money, even when the others felt the centaur was reaching past his prime life. Once the nobleman died Duren found himself a free man, being too old for any interest by the others of battle. He began to feel himself like a lost colt once more, feeling strange to be able to do his own thing after over 20 years.
