Ellisif
Unregistered

Character Name: Ellisif Bannon

Age: 22

Species: Werewolf

Job: Experienced Herder, skilled Vet. Freelance: contact for hire.

Relationships: Currently none.

Family: Adoptive human parents (deceased), adoptive human older sister Gwen Bannon. Distant relatives likely.

Physical Description:

Ellisif has very long dark brown, wavy hair that reaches her lower back. She usually keeps it loose, but when working will pin it back. She has dark brown eyes and light skin which never seems to fully tan even though she spends practically all of her time outside in the sun. At about 5’6” she is slender but still curvy, a shape easily kept from all the running around she seems to do. She has no scars to speak of as she seems to heal very nicely indeed, and she has several ear piercings.

She hates wearing shoes so her feet are always muddy, and can usually be found wearing brown scuffed leather trousers and a baggy off the shoulder dark green shirt. The trousers are easy to repair if she transforms fully, and the top is usually baggy enough to hide her modesty should she need it. She has two strong metal and hide gloves that are fingerless and reach up to her elbows (more gauntlets than anything else) which expand and adapt to both her human and werewolf form. Ellisif also has a penchant for wearing furs when the need arises, and she wears a silver cross around her neck.

Personality:

Ellisif has learnt to be very self-reliant, but she craves recognition and human company as much as the next person. However, her conscience makes her feel guilty for getting too involved with people- the thought of hurting other people when they don’t deserve it is always in the back of her mind. She’s quite open, honest and can be a little blunt, but always has good intentions. She’s very forgiving to others, but finds it hard to forgive herself. Ellisif is also privately religious, believing her ‘curse’ is something she has to triumph over. She isn’t a preacher. But because of her religious side she doesn’t believe in ‘taking the easy way out.’

By all accounts, she should have been driven insane by her history, but she lives to get her sister’s forgiveness and concentrates all her efforts on this goal. In terms of how the horror of her past has affected her, she tries not to think about it, but then there is not too much to remember anyway. Sometimes she gets incredibly miserable, and can be very hateful towards herself. But she tries not to get too stressed; for fear that something bad may happen. She doesn’t really like to talk about her problems, and so may appear bubbly on the outside even when she is crying on the inside.

Despite this, her animalistic side cannot be fully suppressed or ignored totally. In recent years it has evolved into a sort of separate personality at times, but it is merely a less inhibited version of her normal self (this is where the blunt honesty can come in. Throw in a few sarcastic comments and you are right there.). When in this type of mood she tends to come across as a little bitter, and yet still has a (somewhat twisted) way of finding the good in the bad.

The only thing that can be truly said of her is that for someone with quite a calm exterior, she swears quite regularly.

Skills:

Since her first transformation into a werewolf, Ellisif has spent the last few years trying to control her werewolf side. She is able to use some of her werewolf attributes without fully transforming. For example, she can extend her claws and fangs for self-defence, as well as change to her ‘wolf eyes’ to see better. Her saliva also has healing properties.

Ellisif is very skilled at handling animals, due mainly to her own animalistic side but also due to her training on her family’s farm. She is a skilled Vet, healer and herder (yes, the sheep thing- although she is good with horses too), although sometimes her methods are a little unorthodox
She is an excellent hider, very acrobatic, agile and a swift mover. When human, her fight style is defensive and non-confrontational; when transformed, she is highly aggressive and volatile.

History:

Ellisif was left on the steps of St Anthony’s Orphanage when she was born, and was later adopted by the Bannon Family when she was two years old. Even now she doesn’t know who her real parents were.

For 14 more years, Ellisif led a normal family life on the Bannon Farm, taking care of the animals with her mother while her sister Gwen and their father tended to the maintenance of the farm itself. Ellisif always had a strange affinity with the animals she cared for, and was a natural healer. Everyone in the village took their animals to her when they were injured, and considered her the resident vet despite the lack of real qualifications.

Then one night, a few weeks after her 16th birthday things changed forever. Ellisif’s werewolf side emerged violently for the first time while her sister was away at her friend’s house.

Ellisif had woken up with a tremendous headache and a terrible fever and managed to stumble downstairs when the transformation started. Her parents emerged from upstairs and , her father armed with a gun. On seeing the wolfish figure thrashing around, the father took a shot and sealed both his and his wife’s fate. He missed but in an uncontrollable rage Ellisif leapt onto her parents and literally tore them apart. They both died unaware that the beast was their daughter.

Ellisif tore through the upstairs of the house, clawing and smashing her way through her bedroom door, where she finally sagged to the floor, reverting to her human self. At first she had no real recollection of what she had done but when she finally realised she was naked and covered in blood, images of the horror downstairs flashed in front of her eyes and she began to cry hysterically. Pulling on some clothes she was trying to get the blood off her hands when she felt someone watching her.

There at the door was her sister, gun in her hand. Ellisif was distraught and tried to explain that she didn’t know what was going on, that she thought she’d done something terrible, but Gwen completely lost it and attacked her. Realising that Gwen thought she had done it all on purpose, Ellisif panicked and fled the house through the window, sliding off the sloped roof and on to the ground. She disappeared into the night, trying to leave the madness behind her.

But for the last 6 years she has been pursued around the world by her vengeful sister. In her journey she has sought to find out the truth about her lineage and privately holds resentment against the parents who left her amongst humans, she believes if she had been raised with werewolves none of this would have happened.

Ellisif eventually found a portal, and has been travelling around for the past year or so, gathering information and trying to outrun her sister long enough so that she can formulate some plan to win her back. She has managed to learn how to control most of her werewolf aspects, but each day is a learning curve. Everyday is another day where her sister could find her and kill her without getting the chance to explain. All Ellisif longs for is a chance to earn her sister’s forgiveness and make her realise that she wasn’t responsible for her actions, but there is the constant worry that she can never pull Gwen back from the edge of madness.
