![]() Character Name: Yakumo Ryusei Age: 237 (appears 23 in age) Species: Half-Dragon Job: Waiter by day, Assassin by night Relationships: Family: He is not particularly close with his other family members, despite the tendency of dragons to band together due to their scarce numbers. The reason for this is because they tend to be a bit more of what he would describe as money-mongers than he would like. Physical Description: refer to picture…his physical appearance is basically that except for the fact that he doesn’t generally swing around his swords all day. The swords are explained in the skills section. Personality: Although by Dragon reckoning, he is still nearly a baby, his 237 years on Earth were not spent just fooling around and wasting time. He has seen and experienced many things, and is thus very intelligent. Not only is he intelligent and experienced by human standards, but the legendary patience of dragons has also rubbed off on him. Even when encountering circumstances that he has never encountered before, he will not loose his calm and will instead try to break the situation down into small workable bits. He also has an obsession with “fair maidens” and shiny expensive-looking objects, doubtlessly influenced by his Dragon ancestors. Unlike his ancestors, however, he does not think himself superior to the other humans around him. This lack of a sense of egomaniacal self-confidence is due to both his mix of Chinese Dragon in his blood, and the numerous times he has had certain things explained to him by the humans, though this was because the Dragons considered such topics too trivial. He is hardworking and honest, though sometimes the devious nature within his Dragon blood peeps through and will influence him to pull some sort of prank or another.
History: Yakumo was born in Switzerland and raised in a small hovel. He did not know that both his mother and father were dragons and lived in ignorance until the age of 6. Before that, he lived his life out like any toddler would – playing and eating and sleeping his head off. At the age of 2, his parents sent him off to preschool, where he had his fun. Occasionally, a child would go crying to the teacher because some “scehwy air fwoze [his/her] finger”. This was Yakumo unwittingly using his powers, but not only did the teachers never report this, the children were never hurt at all, as all it was was a thin layer of frost. At the end of the day, his parents would come home from work, pick him up, and go home, where he ate and played and slept some more. And thus, his redundant, but peaceful, life went on for 4 more years. One day, his parents never came to pick him up from preschool. His teachers kind-heartedly escorted him back to his “home”, or rather to what was left of his home. Instead of a hovel, they found 2 lizard-like beings with stakes through their heart and heads cut off, alongside with several people in strange-looking armor lugging off chest after chest of gold coins. His teachers gripped onto his shoulders tightly and pulled him into an embrace. They were just as confused as he was about what was happening, but the fact remained that this young child had just witnessed one of the most disturbing scenes he had ever seen in his life. As they turned to leave, Yakumo got one more peek at the lizards. Their scales were slowly and elegantly peeling off their bodies. As the door of the car closed, the lizards started appearing more and more human. As the car drove away, he finally saw who they were – it was his parents dressed in their best change of clothes…the change of clothes they always wore when they were about to go eat at the local, and only, restaurant. He stared at the car that the men in weird suits had gotten into. They had turned out of the driveway and were headed in the opposite direction. He saw the heads that were bumping about and tied to posts by their hair and a crimson rope – his parents’ blank yet painful gazes stared off into the night sky. The car that the teachers and he were traveling in suddenly exploded in a burst of blue-ish light and thermite. The men had planted a bomb in the car when they weren’t looking. Yakumo was the only one who had survived, luckily activating the Dragon Magic in his blood at a critical moment. Since then, he has wandered about the world for 101 years while working a few odd jobs here and there and finding secluded places where he could practice his newlyfound powers in relative privacy. Eventually, after mastering this transformation to some degree, he decided to go to a place where dragons were held in more of a benevolent light – Japan. There, he fit into society well, as Japanese females seemed to particularly enjoy foreign men. He was constantly moving around, though he was constantly studying the Martial Arts from their respective masters. Eventually, he wandered into Ris’Mos, and got a job as a waiter. However, deciding to keep all options open, he advertised himself as an assassin for hire, which eventually earned him the reputation of being one of the most effective agents out there. |
