school causes drama, elimination, racial conflicts, anger problems, emotional problems, loneliness, and depression.

so why should kids go to school just to come home sad every day because they sat alone for lunch? or why should they commit suicide because of being bullied? most kids don't tell their parents, which just makes their anger stay inside of them.

Yeah, we learn a lot, but we could easily learn these things another way. Maybe by online schooling or tutoring. I'm not against social conversation between each other, I'm not saying that kids should be smothered in protection to be raised right. I'm saying that school teaches more negatives than positives.

Teachers dont give a shit about you, they're only human beings that are trying to raise their own family up. They probably have more mistakes and have done more sins than you, why the hell should you learn from them? They're just a bunch of fake tools.

Have you noticed that there are way more unpopular kids than popular ones in school? Its because the popular kids are like an "elite" group. Only some people get put in there, mostly judged on their looks and charisma. What if a kid has mental problems? Yeah, hes in the retard group automatically and has no friends, maybe the nurse is his only friend. Of course he probably has GPA of 3.5, but nobody even cares about that. If maybe schooling was with technology, like an online school, the kid would most likely be cooler than those who talk like "my name is fred" because of his knowledge. Knowledgeable people are more superior on the internet, and thats a fact.

If schooling was online, then all the groups would inverse. Everybody would be mixed, nobody would be judged, because THERE IS nothing to judge about.

I thought about this when i was reading /r9k/ and people talking about suicide and shit because of their school life, and how they turned emo/started to smoke pot because of it.

Discuss.

why the fuck are you on /r9k/ arent you like not even 15 yet

the reason 4chan hates school is because its compromised of all the unpopular kids, all the outcasts, and all the nobodies. but im not saying i disagree with them. hell 90% of the shit i read there i agree with

anyway without school, where the fuck would you learn social skills? how would you learn to interact with people when you grow up and go out into the real world? how would you know which people are pieces of shit, and which people are quality people? you learn all that from your experience at school, whether it was a shitty experience or a good one.

think about it, if a kid is unpopular, usually its for a reason. maybe the kid doesnt talk properly to other people, maybe they distance themselves, maybe theyre a fucking asshole. eventually they can either stay the same, or try to improve their personality. by improving their personality, in the future they will be a better person and will actually be able to fucking get somewhere in life.

i think it teaches people to improve upon themselves and learn that they can trust nobody but themselves. its better to be stabbed in the back in high school than to be stabbed in the back as an adult, for something that ACTUALLY matters. youll never be able to avoid shitty people in this world, so its best to learn how to deal with them at a young age than to learn at an older age

Well, if you really hated school enough to commit suicide, you could always drop out and get your G.E.D. instead.

I agree in general with Metal though. Probably 95% of the book learning we're taught in elementary and high school will be irrelevant to us later in life; the social experience is more significant, whether you're having fun or suffering. There are no real benefits to moving school online and eliminating possibilities for real friends, dating and joining clubs/teams. It's just an escape for people who don't want to deal with their faults.

I think school is like...a trial run at life. It's to kind of give you experience of how life goes. And the online stuff, yeah, it could work, for some people.

But personally, I'd rather have a teacher teach it to me, than having to read it all online. And probably if school was online, most people would probably just skim most things, or not even bother with it.

And who cares about popularity? It's not like it changes you in life. Being popular won't help you whatsoever if you're applying for a job and you're dumb as hell. But either way, school is all about the development of social skills.

If you've met homeschooled people...it's a little bit awkward. They haven't learned the social skills a school person has. Obviously there are tons of flaws, but the fact that everybody learns, acts, and sees the world differently means there's no ONE right way that school should be taught. D: But yeah, there's my spiel. I'm pretty sure the last sentence and first sentence are about completely different topics...so yeeah D:

Edit: How would you do gym online, btw? You could always just say you did it...o_O

if someone is popular it usually mean they are charismatic or know how to socialize, which is extremely important when applying for a job. if an employyer is looking to hire 2 people, and one person seems socially awkward while the other is bright and charismatic, obviously the second person will be hired. even if the charismatic person isnt as smart as the first one.

I see what you mean. But I think it would depend on the job. Customer service, obviously the charismatic person would get it. But unpopular people aren't always socially awkward and such. But yeah, I see your point

Metal is right and true, though. It's quite depressing for people like myself, actually because I'd have to fake it (which is quite tiresome, makes me feel like a phony and I get incredibly paranoid and self-conscious that they might see through me). I also cannot bullshit, which makes me a crap salesperson, lmao. I'm so happy and fortunate to have the job that I have right now, tbh.

I was thinking about it the other day, and realised that if I didn't actually attend classes and just did everything online, I'd have no friends and become a virtual shut-in :/ HS is a sucky experience for most because the popular kids tend to be assholes and make fun of everybody else who shows the slightest hint of being "different". Thank god most people don't give a flying fuck about it after that.

I dunno why people try so hard to be "popular" lmao. Being different should be something you take pride in, not the other way around. By high school you should be smart enough to know that.

Yeah anyone who thinks school shouldn't exist is an anarchist dumbfuck. You want the future to contain nothing but idiotic people? That would be fucked. The internet is for porn, not for getting educated. Too much cheating would be instantly possible. (Believe me, in university half of my course is online work and I can google like every single question and get a yahoo answer for it or wolframalpha it if its a math question.)

You guys are taking everything that I said for a literal sense. I didn't mean that school should be transferred online and people should be anti-social, knuckle dragging, mouth-breathers. I'm just saying that school teaches more wrongs then rights. People would still socialize, they would have friends, but you wouldn't be judged on how you dress or look or who you hang out with, it would be based upon your knowledge. It wouldn't necessarily have to be "online", maybe it would be school but with more enforced rules instead of teachers just saying "If you're being bullied talk to an adult we'll help blah blah" when the person whose getting bullied in the first place doesn't have the self confidence to rely their problems to other people, or to express their life to people they don't even know.

There wouldn't be the average "groups" like the jocks, nerds, geeks, popular girls etc. Everybody would just be mixed together and people would shine through with what they contribute in class or whatever. It sounds really stupid when you look at it this way but it would eliminate bullying and a bunch of other mental conflicts with kids.

He wasn't homeschooled anyway... from the Mein Kampf:

"All my playing about in the open, the long walk to school, and particularly my association with extremely 'husky' boys, which sometimes caused my mother bitter anguish, made me the very opposite of a stay-at-home. And though at that time I scarcely had any serious ideas as to the profession I should one day pursue, my sympathies were in any case not in the direction of my father's career. I believe that even then my oratorical talent was being developed in the form of more or less violent arguments with my schoolmates. I had become a little ringleader; at school I learned easily and at that time very well, but was otherwise rather hard to handle."
