The starlight in the night sky.

Well I chose Snivy just cuz it looked pretty cool. I didn't based it off the moves it can learn and such. And plus, not a lot of people on here took him as a starter. Same with Tepig. It's mostly Oshawott that was chosen for starter Pokemon. |

I want to take tepig, but his base speed is so low. His HP makes up for it, though. AND, I've never chosen a fire type starter, evar. |

You're overthinking this. PICK THE ONE THAT LOOKS THE BEST TO YOU. That's my simple, humble, and probably useless advice. I chose Tepig since I thought Emboar didn't look half bad btw. |

I chose Oshawott because I always pick the water type. ![]() All three are good in their own ways and all have short-comings but in the end they all end up pretty good So you're good.

It's about how you use the pokemon. Tepig excels in Strength and Defense Snivy excels in Special Attack and Special Defense Oshawott excels in Speed and Attack I personally choose Tepig because if actually learns a variety of moves. It turns into a Fire Fighting as soon as you evolve it which brings more possibilities. Also, Emboar is AMAZING in strength and defense making it a walking tank. Furthermore, it can learn Wild Charge. This is what won me over. Since Emboar is a Fire-Fighting, water and flying are super effective to it. However, this is all taken away when it uses Wild Charge on it which is super effective to BOTH of those. Additionally, it learns Fire Charge which ups the speed of Emboar while attacking. Lastly, Emboar just looks plain bad ass. Emboar > all |

Chris. o-o You're incorrect. Snivy: 1 Speed - Servine: 2 Speed - Serperior: 3 Speed Oshawott: 1 Sp Attack -Dewott: 2 Sp Attack - Samurott: 3 Sp Attack Tepig: 1 HP - Pignite: 2 Attack - Emboar: 3 Attack Nishi Nishi Anyone is good. If you like hitting hard take Tepig, If you like speed take Snivy and if you like water types take Oshawott. I have played the game with all three and my Favorite was Tepig because he hit hard and was able to take a hit. Altho a Serperior with "Coil" And "Leaf Blade" raped pretty hard. |

Oshawott can use both its attack and its Special Attack excellently. Although it's slow (It can learn Aqua Jet to kind of moot this though). It has good defenses though, Oshawott is the balanced one. Tepig has sky high attack, and good special Attack. It's slower than Oshawott, but learns Nitro Charge which is good, and overall works well. Snivy is all about Speed and Defense. His attack stats...suck, but he can learn Coil, which really helps this. His only problem is that he doesn't learn any good non-Grass moves D:

What starter should I choose? The Snivy line is very fast, have decent defenses, and okay attack. The Tepig line has great attack and HP, poor defenses, and terrible speed. The Oshawott line has decent everything. It's completely your choice. All three families are equally usable in-game. ^ gamefaqs 8D |

Pure awesomeness.

Based on stats, I would pick either Tepig or Oshawott, but I always start with the fire types. Actually all of them are fine, just pick the one you like. D: |
