i consider oshawott a rip off of piplup. Not as cute, not as cool.
snivy=rip off treeko, maybe in female version..
the ripoff of tepig is on the tip of my tongue...i swear ash caught it when i used to watch pokemon..

Tepig does NOT have terrible defense. It's a walking tank.

Oshawatt or Tepig are your best choices. Being that they can learn moves other than their type contributing to type advantage. But you also have to look long term. Answer these questions.

Are you gunna keep the Pokemon throughout your adventure?
Are you going to learn the Pokemon an HM?
Will you use this pokemon online?
Will you evolve the pokemon?
If yes to above, without looking at any stats, which final evolution appeals to you best?
Would you want a pokemon with dual typing?

Think about those.

Nishi every starter Pokemon is a different animal. Think about water animals. ._. How many water animals are there that are not fish? >_> So stop complaining. Just pick one already, this debate is pointless. AND DON'T HATE ON TREECKO!

I personally picked Oshawatt, and in a way I regret choosing it. I would of much rather picked Tepig, or even Snivy. However, I highly recommend Tepig. Like others have said, it's pretty tank. It has amazing attack, good defences with a great HP to back them up, and a LKGFHJKHGYFGHJJKHG movepool. It can learn moves like Scald being a water type move, or Wild Charge to get rid of Water types. And can also learn destructive moves like Head Smash. It'll be a great addition to your team for sure.

1)I wasn't complaining , jesus christ. It was a statement.
2)You're always bagging on me. I don't even know why I talk to you.
3)GTFO of my topic.
4)This isn't a debate.

When I picked mine I narrowed it down to Oshawatt and Tepig and I always pick water as my starter but I thought that Tepig looked way cuter and cooler than whatever the heck Oshawatt is so I picked Tepig, and this is with no prior knowledge about any of them.
