I'm fucking Cynickal

It's day 3 & it's still out. Coming from Sony they shut down the PSN cause of an outside attack. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/22/update-on-playstation-network-qriocity-services/

So for now we wait for Sony to secure the PSN. Damn hackers. <_<

I honestly don't care when it comes back online. I don't know about you but I'm perfectly fine playing single player all the time.

You won't be when you start playing online more.
I'm however totally cool to play GT5 offline, just I can't dupe the daily car and paint.

This. I haven't played online in about a year and I am perfectly happy with single player.

Not really except for Borderlands. That game is awesome.

Yeah, it was pretty sick.

I'm a little miffed at this BS... who would be that sick to ruin gaming for someone? D:

If we find out who it is, we should use an axe. Axes always get the job done.

I'd rather go with a Slapping Machine on a spin cycle of 3 months non-stop.

This must be quite embarrassing!

Sony's Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media, has confirmed on the Playstation Blog that the downtime of Playstation Network earlier was due to hackers.
An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th.
Sony turned off PSN on Wednesday in Europe and the US. On Thursday they commented the service could be "down for days".

Sony was recently under attack by the hacker group Anonymous but those attacks stopped after user outrage.

That hackers can go so far into PSN that Sony sees no other choice than to shut it down completely certainly raises questions regarding security. Mind you: not only game-related information is stored on PSN, but also addresses and credit card info of millions of users is stored...

Ho Noez! This Outage actually got me to bust out the wii and play Rock Band 2.. I was about to bust out Smash Brawl too

I'm not overly pleased about it being down for 3 days but some of people commenting on the blog post must have no life. They're taking it sooooo seriously. It's ridiculous.

They feel that complaining is justified by the fact that they "own" that right to be online, thus when taken away without word means they can complain...

Everyone's still a child.

This is a sad but true statement on many a person's view of PSN. Microsoft has a good idea for network access though it goes a bit to far for my taste. It's also no guarantee the same can't happen ( though it might be easier to trace origin ). This isn't the first time PSN has been down for similar reasons. And I hate to say it won't be the last unless security protocols are changed. As with many things in life the actions of a minority affects the majority.

Thing is with Microsoft servers, if they go down they are down for weeks at a time. At least this is only for a few days hopefully.

Still down and I'm beginning to get very bored with singleplayer.
I completed RDR again which was ok. FIFA 09 & Just Cause 2 are bollocks. Maybe I should save singleplayer for times like this.

I wouldn't set hopes on the PSN being up today or Monday either. Sony is making sure the PSN is 100% secure before it's back up & I heard they are rebuilding it from scratch which means a possible week downtime. All well, I got Shift 2's singleplayer to finish.

Might open up my 360 again until the PSN is back up. Sony are losing a lot of money right now. So I would expect it to be up by Monday.

I don't care what any bitch says (read forums everywhere :fp: ). Sony did this to protect EVERYONE that's on the PSN. They could of left it on so the intruders can steal everyone's info.

It's an eye opener to how reliant people are on online/video games in general nowadays.
