Peter: Is there anyway to convince them they pulled the plug on the cam too soon??? I feel we've been cheated out of seeing this event to the end. I sure hope your crew at least continues to give us a daily update. Anyway they could post it the same time every day so we can all meet here then to view and talk about it together? |

I'm not sure if we have any influence on putting the camera back on-line, as the Ventura County Office of Education has donated much of the equipment and bandwidth necessary to bring the images to you and it is probably a financial reason for turning it off for the season. I don't think we can specify a time each night to put on an update. Different people work different shifts and at different points on the island. If they leave the nest site at 7:30 pm, they can't make it back to a computer until about 9 pm. As soon as we determine that things are going well with A-49 we will not be able to go there daily because we have to concentrate on the other 14 young eagles released this season and the 30+ older eagles that we are monitoring, usually with only two people on the job. All I can say is that we'll do what we can to keep the updates coming. |

Thanks for responding, Peter....I understand. Well the good people in Ventura have given us a reprieve and at least the cam will be there until the end of the week. I think most of us just want to see him return at least once so we can actually see him in flight. I think then we'll all be ok. Thanks for your excellent work! |

Peter, your crew will have their hands full with all these eagles, yet what better expression of a successful restoration program. You've brought one eaglet into our hearts and he will remain there forever. I look forward to the next eaglet! I'll follow #49 on the IWS tracking page. I've already checked out K-39, I believe it is. As everybody else, I'm really going to miss A-49. |
