It was an excellent update.

We are going to hit the goal in a matter of days, which of course means we're going to up the goal allowing us to get more people involved with giving and recieving when the raffle comes rolling around.

Bea, if I can answer your question. The Dog in the photo is Amber. She belongs to Dr Sharpe's neighbor and accompanied Dr and Mrs Sharpe on their recently concluded vacation.

Thank's Darrell! What a fitting name for her. And so nice of Dr. and Mrs. Sharpe to take her with them.
It must have been so exciting to meet both (or should I say all three) of them?
Do you notice a note of jealousy here? Just kidding.
Thank you Darrell - for being you!!

It was definitely a highlite of this endeavor.

We are working very close to make sure that all of you are kept up to date on our progress, and to make sure that our Raffle Prizes will be plentiful and very special as well.

The commitment that Dr Sharpe has to the Eagles of the Channel Islands, and to the IWS is equalled by the commitment I have to guiding this fundraiser and raffle through to it's successful conclusion.

The research and activities involved with restoring these birds to their habitat requires a solid group effort. So too does this fundraiser require the same group effort, and we as a group are a giving group of people, with our eyes on one goal. That being the success of the IWS, not just in the Bald Eagle programs, but in all that they do. We can't do it all alone, but the generosity shown here forces me to say, we can help and we can make a difference.

It wasn't said, but I could see in the look of his eyes and the inflection in his voice that he was surprised and so purely delighted that a small group of people, strangers to each other, could and in fact have banded together for this cause.

Thank you all very much, and to all of you...you're welcome.

If I wasn't me...I'd be someone else. ;)

Just got back to the office today and found the contribution for which we were waiting. The total is now up to $5500.

I take it that was the big 'surprise' donation that Darrell has been alluding to.
Are we going to be let in on the secret?? Who or What was the surprise contributor?
Darrell, you can go ahead and answer this post, Dear.

dern, I wish I had a spell-checker here. Too tired to be doing my own.

Fantastic news about our total!

This is just terrifc news. They probably need so much more though. Darrell, have you thought about contacting the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation? They have to give away millions per year. They focus mostly on Aids and Education. Well, this is an educational project....

Just a thought, I'm sure you've already been there, done that now that I think about it.

Congratulations to you for being our leader and organizing this fund raiser.

Good evening everyone!! I haven't had a chance to log on for about a week!! Great to see how high our donations have risen! We need to have one of those thermometers showing our goal and how far we've surpassed it!!

I had a chance to read the last update from IWS and see the fabulous pics and video - woohoo!!

Anyway, I'm off again - I spent the day up near Piedras Blancas (north of Cambria) assisting in fish and frog moving event. Moved steelhead, stickleback and one red-legged frog tadpole! Tonight we are doing night-time surveys for adult red-legged frogs! Wish me luck as I trek through the creekbed armed with headlamp and flashlight!!

Will check in again later. Hope everyone has been well.

Catzsong :)

Wow! That is great news!! I am so impressed with the members of this forum! All of you are really very special people. I am so proud to be even a small part of this group. Darrell, you have done a terrific job! Like ElaineRuth, I am very curious as to who the mystery donor is. Will we ever get to know?
