Darrell - From day one of joining this group I knew you were a special sensitive person and over the last few months you have proved this to be true. You are so dedicated to this cause and have opened up our eyes to so many things that have become an important part of our lives. I am so happy that you have found your soulmate and I wish you a world of happiness in your relationship. Not only are you lucky to find such a special person, but she is the luckiest of all to find you.

Mine was a case of LAFS too and after almost 20 years together, 14 of them married, I still get that tickly feeling in my tummy whenever I see him. Ain't love grand? Can't wait to meet her Darrell. She couldn't have picked a nicer guy! |

Good Morning, been up for a while reading through all the posts. sandie, take care of yourself, try and get some sleep today....you certainly have a lot of stress at the moment....hopefully, it will only be temporary. Troth/Teri, great news about your cousin, coming out of hospital. As you say he will have some tough times, but if his spirit is willing......hope Erin is also progressing well. Thanks for the weather forecast Patti. Around the nest does look duller at the moment though. Darrell, we are so pleased for you and wish you a future full of happiness together. Hope everyone has a great day. Looking forward to the IWS update later today. |

Whew!! Thank goodness, I have met my peeks for sure. I was afraid I was the only one. I too wear my pj bottoms to the market and in my hood which is a "hood" I am the "that lady" and I too like it that way. I love you Hulabird. BTW I have gotten my computer fixed, (fingers crossed) it took three hours on the phone with the tech at Netgear and Dell. My son is the production manager for the Palm Desert TV Station's news department so he is pretty savy when it comes to the techy stuff but even he could not figure it out and had to call the support line. They didn't charge him for it. |

Hello all: Have there been any eagle sightings? I was gone on vacation (Berlin) for a week and got so behind in everything that I have not had time to go back and read all the postings. Last Sunday morning we went to Guadalupe Beach for breakfast (coffee and donuts) to see if there were any whales going by. No whales, but millions of birds travelling from south to north. According to the park ranger they were following the sardines. It was quite a site. Also some snowy plovers running around. Have you all heard that the Monterey Aquarium has another great white shark? Apparently it attracted a record crowd over the weekend. We saw the last one they had, and will go see this one on our trip to Monterey at the beginning of November. |

Eagle D / Darrell, congratulations on finding your sweetheart! You sound so happy. Sandie, I'm very sorry about the loss of your daughter. I hope that you will feel an improvement in your health shortly. Just remember that lots of rest will help your body to heal. Sorry to hear about your car window, too! Something always seems to go wrong with the car when other things are going wrong too. Troth, I know what you mean about looking around, trying to use binocs and walking all at the same time. I do that all the time, so it sounds really familiar. I'm enjoying your little stories about your outing and look forward to more. Likely everyone on here can relate when I tell you about my Snowy Owl experience. In February of 2005 I had just come off the expressway and was driving down a four-lane main road when I saw a fluffy, round, white bird hovering just barely above the cars. I was trying to drive and get a good look at the same time. Fortunately the light turned red. I rolled my window down, stuck my head OUT the window and was exclaiming out loud, "That's a Snowy Owl!" Some people in the cars around me were looking too, others were oblivious. It flew right over my car, barely above the vehicles because it must have been tracking something. I just kept my head out the window looking at the shape of the head, the feathers, everything so as to fix the ID in my mind. I turned my head and got a good look as it landed. The frustrating part was that there was no-where to pull over. I kept trying to look, then look back at the light, then back at the bird. It was a glorious sighting for me. I asked some birding friends and it was confirmed that I had actually seen a Snowy, there were some in the area that winter. It was an unusual winter with an irruption of Great Grey Owls and Snowy Owls from the north. There wasn't enough food for them where they would normally capture it, so they came further south that winter. Anyway, that was a lifer for me. Now when I am trying to walk and look, I remember trying to drive and look at my Snowy Owl! |

Nancy - you are hysterical. You are a romantic like I am. If you are into the soap operas, you should tell Darrell to watch "The Young and the Nestless" LOL
