Here I am as promised! I've had a calm and uneventful day so far today and just finished reading over these posts with a calmer mind and lots of 'inner peace'. Thank you all for your well wishes for our daughter-in-law. The procedure went well and she is recooperating nicely. She is a sweet girl and we are very close to her. Hoping now that the procedure took care of the problem she was having so she doesn't have to have surgery! SANDIE - Hope you're getting plenty of rest and feeling a little better. I didn't know adults could get whooping cough. I remember my mother telling me I had it as an infant and how she slept on the floor beside my crib at night for fear I'd stop breathing and she wouldn't be there to help me. Obviously, I survived. I did a GoodSearch.com on it and found it is becoming more common in teens and adults and they're beginning to suggest they get immunized again.BIXBY - Sorry to hear about the sale of your house falling through. Hope the right person comes along soon! Have you already bought a place in Big Bear? You've probably said, but I can't remember....sorry. TROTH - How's your daughter doing? Did she come home as planned? Is 'home' your house or her own? They're always our babies, no matter how old they get! Hope all is going well for her and for your cousin too. EAGLE D & EAGLE D'S D - Congratulations on finding each other and welcome once again to the group, Deby! We don't bite.....just mantle a little! ![]() I wish you both oodles and oodles of joy & adventure! LBtheScot - How exciting about the Great White Shark at the Monterey Aquarium. Did you get to see it? WOW! I would so love to see a great white shark. Our family is quite gung ho on sharks ever since Dave let our daughter watch "Jaws" when she was 2 years old and she cheered for the shark! Fortunately, he did get her out of the room before they killed the shark at the end of the movie. She fell in love with sharks from that movie and loves them to this day. We watch all the Discovery Channel shows on sharks. Oh yeah, she was 9-years old before she found out the shark died, and boy was she ever devistated! CDN-CDN - Loved your Snowy Owl story. I'm sure Dave and I would have done the same thing! LALA - Your "I Break for Snowy Owls" bumper sticker idea - great idea! Hmmmmmmm maybe we should all get a "I BREAK FOR BALD EAGLES" bumper stickers! HULABIRD - I'm laughing so hard about the 6 empty houses surrounding you. You're always cracking me up! I know our son would never survive in any of those houses. He barely survived living here with just a conure and a cockatiel! I'd love it though. Do you have an aviary for them or ???Hey, Dave, what do you think about moving to Hawaii??? I hear there are some houses we might be able to get a good deal on.... TEDDY NEAL - Thanks for your good wishes! They must have helped cuz the rest of the evening and the drive home were uneventful! ELAINERUTH - We have 3 grandkids, 2 boys (10 & 8) and a girl (2½). They all lived with us for over a year (while trying to save up to buy a house) and I still watch the grandkids almost every day, so we can relate to your feeling lost without them on weekends. If I go more than a day without seeing them, I go into withdrawal! OZZIE - Was wondering how you ended up in Australia to begin with? Also was wondering how Larry was doing and if you got his tests results back yet. Hoping for the best on both counts! BEA - Looking forward to seeing your pics from your trip to the SB Zoo! Hope you have (had by the time you read this) a wonderful time! I enjoyed all of the day's posts. They definitely helped me keep my sanity on a wacky day! Hope there's not a limit on the size of a reply. Guess I'll find out soon! |
