Dr. Sharpe, many weeks ago I ran across a photo of A-10 in the hacking tower. It is a beautiful eagle. I watch for it in the weekly updates, but have never seen it or heard it mentioned, that I can recall. What sex is A-10? Do you know if this eagle is still on Santa Cruz Island? Or any island? The I.D tag number seems like it would be several years old now. Thank you! |

A-10 is a female released in 2002. It lost its transmitter and the last sighting we have of it was on Santa Rosa Island in April 2005. It's probably still out there. |

Thanks a lot for the info, Dr. Sharpe! I clicked to enlarge her image & suspected a female once I saw the face. She's very beautiful. Maybe in a year or so, she will find a mate? Some birds look very feminine to me--and A-10 is one of them. Thank you, again, for confirming her sex--and the location. |
