Hi All, back from Big Bear at last. It was a long day and drive, but we got everything we set out to do accomplished. Escrow will close on 10/2, 10/4 tile work and a sliding door in the master bedroom will be installed, then carpet as soon as that's done. We hope to be moved in by Oct. 31st. Hubby and I may have seen an eagle: soaring above was a large bird with dark body and white head. If it was just me I'd think it might be wishfull thinking, but he saw it too and even said, "That looks like a bald eagle". So that certainly was the icing on the cake. Well, just wanted to say hi, but now I'm signing off....my head is nodding and I'm off to get some shuteye. Good night all, have a great evening. |

ER: surely that is not an 8mo old shuffling along in that photo? I was just checking out a site that you all might like from National Geographic with a bit of sound. I apologize if someone else has already posted this link...I don't always get to all of them: http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/02...nds/media2.html |

Hi folks: I'm still not feeling very well but I was able to keep some toast and tea down and am hoping to get rid of this thing tomorrow. I just don't have any energy, but I'm going to have to work Sat and Sunday to make up for the time in bed. At least I am no longer worshiping the porcelain god "Ralph". Hopefully tomorrow will be much better On the other hand I have lost 5 lbs. My sister is a nurse and is yelling about pediasure for electrolytes, but I take plain water or tea any day. Even the birds have been subdued, although one of the greys is making disgusting sounds which I for one do not want to remember. It is amazing how fast they pick things (like 4 letter words, which I have been very careful not to use), but as long as I don't show any reaction they won't keep it up for long. Thank you all for the concern and support. Sandie, just think of it this way, you used up the next six months bad stuff, and there will be relief soon. Good nite all. , the paler, thinner skellis |

Peppermint, thank you for the link. What an awesome video! Such amazing photos. I especially loved the eagle in the standoff with the fox. Can't you just picture our Warrior Princess doing the same with an Island fox? And some good education, too - I had no idea that a bald eagle has about 7,000 feathers yet they weigh less than a pound altogether! I have learned so much from this forum. I so appreciate all of the members' willingness to share - whether visual, intellectual or emotional. You are an incredible group of people! |

Going to say goodnight. Have not been able to read the posts today...busy and tired. Glad you'e feeling better, Skellis--and that is so funny about your grey's noise. Welll~~~~after my husband's last bout of the runs, for several days my grey was making similar disgusting noises. You can't help but laugh, but pray they don't pull this while you have a business call. Hope you're feeling much better tomorrow. |

Oh my gosh Skiells....the porcelain god is not something to pray to for long. That is one thing I just hate....I'd rather have car problems. I know what you mean about these little feather friends. They pick up the stuff so quick. I can't even turn on my microwave without my Bernie beeping exactly like it. I have to look at it to make sure I have actually put the numbers in! I just shake my head in amazement! I had to laugh at all you said, so you must be better. I will rapidly follow! Night for now hope everyone else is better too. Elaine Ruth those pink shoes cracked me up. |

Skellis: I hope you have a good night's sleep and feel better tomorrow! Sandie: so sorry about your car problems! They are so frustrating at times. Remember how bad we wanted our own car when we were kids? I actually dented mine a couple months ago when I kicked it after the umpteenth time it broke down in the middle of a heat wave. And no, it did not make me feel better to kick it: just hurt my foot and left a dent to remind me every day.

Skellis: For electrolytes you might try Smart Water by Glaceau. Albertsons carries it. It just tastes like water and has no calories. My son's been drinking it everyday rather than Gatorade which has something like 350 calories. Lana: Yeah...that confrontation between the eagle and the fox was my favorite too. I think the fox in that video is a much bigger species than the ones out on the island and YES....I can picture our little queenie standing her ground with one! Darrell: how old are your sweetie's kids?? |
