Hula... fun Hummingbird cam.... I have a couple of feeders in my yard and those little rascals get real pushy when their nectar is low.... they come around to my kitchen window on the other side of the house and 'dance' in front of it to get my attention and let me know that I am being derelict in my duties. We get some different varieties coming through at different times of the year but 'Anna's Hummingbirds' are our local residents.

Hulabird - Thanks so much for the lovely video site of the hummingbirds. They remind me somewhat of our Cruzer. Cruzer mantles to guard her food and the hummingbirds guard the feeder with ferocity. I have a lovely picture I took of a hummer sitting on a tilansia branch guarding the feeder that is about 7-8 feet away. That little bird sits there for ages guarding...they are so beautiful and so feisty.

Good Afternoon everyone...Feeling a little better today just tired. Great pictures Bea of the SB zoo. Thanks for sharing them. I can never get enough of animals. I don't know what the weather is like down your way, but up here in Northern California it has been very very windy. Fall is in the air for sure.

Darrell good luck today and have fun meeting the kids. Hope all goes well.

Nice wallpaper Elaine but I can't read what it says looks good though.

Hope everyone enjoys the Saturday football games.

Hulabird, thank you so much for the Hummingbird Cam link. They are so much fun to watch.
Bixby, enjoy your vacation at Bass Lake! Wonderful area. Are you roughin' it? (Camping?)
OjaiHikers, thank's for the link. Had seen this advertised somewhere, but can't remember where. Darn this getting old and forgetting stuff :D
Cumbrians, great to have you back on the capture button! Thanks for the pics!
Patti, interesting you should mention the slugs. Hubby and I are just stumped as to where they go during the day. We see them in our backyard every night. Not that many, but enough to where you have to watch your step. Come morning they have vanished. I mean vanished! We look underneath things and everywhere and there is no trace of them. Where do they go during the day?
Okay. Off to do some chores around the house. Will check back in a little later.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.

Peppermint- Thanks for the link for the parrots. One of my sons use to live in Lakeside, CA (east of San Diego) and there was a flock of the wild parrots that used to visit daily to eat fruit from his trees. They were lovely.

Bea: we used to rough it when I was a kid, stayed in a tent and all that, then when I got married I stepped up to a camper, then about 15 years ago we started staying in a cabin at a wonderful place called Miller's Landing, right on the lake. Doesn't get much better!

Hi Everyone....
Wow not a bad thing happened all day....I hardly know how to act!!!
I got a couple of things unpacked today then I thought what if I want to move why should I unpack everything. So....in case anyone knows of someone willing to rent to me...I want a guest house in the city of Ventura. Anyone know of someone that has one and is willing to rent it???? P L E A S E Give me their name. thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Can you tell I feel better??? Well a little anyway. I am so frightened I am allergic to my Bernie. Anyone out there know what to do in case of that? I do not want to give up my baby. But I was thinking about all it's little dust he creates and just wondered. Any body with a suggested remedy?
It is nice to get away on vacation. We'll be right here waiting for you 10 days from now. Gonna go fishing too?
I think I want to sell my little Teardrop trailer. I never got to use it at all this year cause of all these injuries. I think it's time to give it up to some one that will use it and enjoy it. Any takers?
Gosh all these great websites. I have four hummers right outside my window all the time. Today Bernie and I went out there and talked to them. One came almost to my face and Bernie was all excited then watched them fly away. He has no wings to fly away with. Already done that and he didn't like it.
Eagle D and Eagle D's D....Hope you are having a great weekend. I am so happy for you guys. And to find each other out of the blue makes it even better. I still have my lavender dress tucked away....waiting!!!

Hulabird, thanks for the hummingbird link. We were lucky and saw a number of them visit the feeder when we tuned in. They tolerated each other too! We have about 4 different ones that frequent our feeder outside the kitchen window. They normally come at different times. Last year we did have 3 that were actually on the feeder together and I was nervous in case they started a 'sword' fight as I didn't want any casualties!

Bixby, have a super vacation.

Great to hear that people are starting to feel better.

Our next door neighbour celebrated his 90th birthday today.......what a character he is....... he is originally from Newfoundland, but been here in B.C. since 1941.

Hope all the football matches went well today, and no injuries.......

Will check back later......

Hi from DownUnder Everyone!
Hulabird, I am downloading the info you sent to ask my Vet about it. Have you tried the product(s)?
Love the hummingbirds! beautiful little things aren't they!
Its wet wet wet here again in Sydney to continue till midweek the Weatherpeople say. Well, it is spring!
I took time off my my workload yesterday to take my daughter shopping (again!) for that elusive formal dress and SUCCESS! In fact I bought her two, one for another time, she looked SOOOO elegant in it I insisted on buying it for her (and it was marked down 75% off!).
Might get her to try them on for photo session later and post up to Family Pix... if she'll let me!
Bixby have a great trip, envious!
Ladies Tennis final just finished, wasnt Sharapova's outfit beautiful!?!
Glad everyone seems to be feeling better and no mishaps.
I'll be lurking...... KLJinOz :ph43r:

BTW, on the topic of snails and slugs, we have horrible TIGER slugs in Oz, up to 10" long and fat, ugh! to get rid of them sprinkle salt around, it burns their skin (but then you have to clean them up after they shrivel and die!
