EagleDuo, so cool! Thanks for sharing. I remember going to a friend's cabin in Big Bear (actually Lake Arrowhead, I think) in my early 20s, and sitting out on the deck when we noticed some big black birds with white heads. We assumed they were vultures, having no idea that bald eagles could be seen in So Cal. Only later did we learn the truth and I was so bummed for not having taken pictures!
So how are those binocs with the camera? I've thought about getting some, seems a great idea.

 Eagle Duo.... what a great video....thanks so much for sharing. I actually figured out how to play it too...even more incredible. It did get a little bouncy but worth the effort to see. Looked like a great day and looked like you were enjoying.
Time to go to bed now that I am caught up

Someone suggested an Ionic Breeze to collect Bernie's feathers/dust. I ordered one tonight ....hope that helps <_<

Hi guys: I'm still alive but still not completely well, but have stopped worshiping the porcelain god. Don't have a lot of energy yet, but slept part of the afternoon away.

Eagle Duo Glad you had such a great day and loved the video.

Sandie: it will also help the dust if you give the little darling a shower once or twice a week. I use a pump sprayer on the finest mist on my greys and it significantly reduces the dust.

time to go back to sleep.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I wish it wasn't so bouncey....some are even worse. I was at the mercy of the wind, the choppy water, and Mr. 'Complete Control', and of course, the birds! But it was all worth it and I'd do it again in a flash! But next time, I'm bringing along a cushion to sit on! Posted Image

Lana: Until I joined this forum, I hadn't realized we had bald eagles in So. California either, so I probably would have thought the same thing. Do your friends still live in Lake Arrowhead? Good reason to go visit again....with a ready camera!
I love my binoculars with built-in camera. They're not quite as powerful as Dave's, but they're smaller and lighter than Dave's and I love taking pictures. I just wish the pictures showed as much detail as I see when looking through them. Maybe newer ones do.

Sandie: Sounds like you're feeling better, glad to hear that! And glad you 'figured out' how to play the video. :D
How do you like your Ionic Breeze? Did it help you sleep better last night?

KLJinOz: The weather was perfect. I hate hot and have often thought I'd love to be rich enough to have two homes. One here during the winter and one in Australia for our yucky summers.....until I read about all the snakes and creepy crawlies you have there. That moved Australia way down on my list of places I'd like to go. That was the worst part of living in Japan....all the creepy crawlies! Yuck! :P

skellis: Glad to hear you're feeling better. Able to keep anything down yet?

Hmmm............. thought you might be interested in this email I rec'd from my daughter-in-law:

We were considering buying one of these ionic breeze air purifiers by Sharper Image especially since you can buy them in department stores now. We decided to get a little more information on them first. Wow-- I am glad we did. We thought you would like to see this.

Heading for bed, but before I go, here's one video.  I took this with my binoculars of the bald eagle flying.  Gotta warn ya though.....if you're prone to motion sickness, you'd better take a dramamine before viewing.

Wow, how beautiful!!! Thanks so much.
Can you tell me the name/make/model of your binocular-camera??
I've got some research to do here!!

O, BTW, I love your avatar.

Madison - I'm glad you like your new job and boss. I am so over mine after I saw my last paycheck.

Bixby - I know you're already gone by now but I hope you have a fantastic trip. Get lots of R&R and pictures. And I don't blame you for staying in a cabin rather than roughing it. The last time I went camping in a tent it was so hot and awful. I got severely sunburned and a really bad case of poison oak. My first husband and I were at the end of our marriage and I couldn't stand to be around him at all, especially out in the wilderness. I started to dive into the lake to cool off and just right then, a big snake slithered by in the water right where I was to splash down. I immediately packed everything, got in the car and asked the hubby if he wanted a ride. Never again.

Patti - I wouldn't know what to do without the bird dust in my house. Especially the toos. Pledge furniture polish company would be downsizing for sure. Also, we've gotten rid of a lot of our carpet. Only the upstairs where we never go is carpeted. I love my 8 lb Orech. It does such a nice job on our tiled and wood floors. I use it everyday and it really helps with keeping the dust down. Also I run 3 Orech air purifiers in the livingroom.

Ojai Hikers - I wish I was close enough to join you at the ORC event. Sounds like a great time. I've been reading through the site. It is very interesting.

Joanie - Your hummingbirds crack me up with their staring at you through the kitchen window.

Peppermint - How did the game go?

Sandie - What kind of bird is Bernie? And when you say he has no wings, do you mean NO wings (and if that's the case, how did that happen?) or clipped wings?

This is getting too long and I have more questions and comments to will start a new post. That'll teach me to miss a whole day. :D

Elaine - It says that the hummingbird feeder is outside their office at the "Window to the Middle of Nowhere" but I checked their home page and their office is located in Powell River, BC. Is that near you Cumbrian? And thanks for the cute hulapug picture! Nope, no partying for me. We went to our neighbor's "Get to Know Your Neighbors" party Friday evening and was back home in half an our and in bed for the night. I think we're borderline agoraphobic.

Kath/Oz - I haven't tried legacyforlife myself yet but need to order some for my dogs and cats as preventative. My friend swears by it. I need to check with my avain vet as to the safety of it for my birds and if it is safe, what dosages for my various sized fids.

Eagle Duo - I'm glad you made it back safe and sound. I loved all the trip details, pictures, and especially the video! Thanks for sharing with us.

Skellis - Now that we have Nancy and Sandie pretty much on the mend, we can concentrate all our good thought on you girlie! Sending mine right away.

Sorry for the long 2 posts. Now I have to catch up on Sunday.

Bea: your friend was most probably bitten by a Brown Recluse spider. They are worse than black widows I think. My grandmother lost a toe to one and I have a friend who was bitten in the hand by one and had a lot of damage in a very short length of time. Always shake out your shoes and gardening gloves before you put them on...they like to hide in dark places and bite out of defense.

Hulabird: the football game was a suspenseful one right down to the last 1:47. It was 35-33 in our favor at that point and then the other team got a touchdown..but not the extra point. Our guys ALMOST got one more with :57 left on the clock after the other team scored. But with one second left on the clock....great long pass to the endzone but just barely missed as it brushed thru the fingers of our receiver....very exciting game!! My son did well...no injury for him but one of their best defense guys broke his leg....end of season for him.

Ok...off to catch up on today's posts then off to bed.
