Look on a branch behind the nest. Far left about 1/3 way down. One for sure, possibly 2 still there. I'm getting shots |

Hula, did you see the first two land? (I hope we're not hallucinating here - the little shapes do look like little eagles)

HB: I see exactly what you see, it does look like there are two birds on the branches in the trees behind the nest. |

Bird on pinecone branch but not big enough to be an eagle, medium sized bird. |

I didn't see then land but saw orange tags on the one on the left and the transmitter glisting several differnt times. The one on the right was clearly preening earlier. And they've changed positions several times. |

Black one at pinecone branch hasn't moved, might be hallucination. And I agree its too small to be an eagle unless its an optical illusion and really on a branch further away |

I've been awake...just not on line...lol I was very nice to meet Deby's kids...they are great kids and she has done a great jpb raising them. Her daughter is absolutely adorable...and so is their dog Maggie...a little yipper, but playful and very cute. I'm looking forward to spending more time with them all. Hey, HulaB--I read your posts and have the cam up. I think I need to lighten my moniter screen, as I've noticed I can barely see scrub jays in the nest, when others see them right off. Normally the slightly darker screen is better for my eyes, but it's lousy for really seeing nest detail. If you saw the orange tags, that's cool. I hope they come back--and up closer. Bea: when I was coming back from mom's house this a.m., there was a hawk on our hills and I think it was closer to your area. Lately I keep my auto visor up--and now I'm seeing a lot more stuff. Maybe it was a Turkey vulture, cause I rolled down my window and didn't hear a Red-tail. It was too far to see. I really should get a pair of binocs to keep in the car. Think I saw a Red-tail sitting on a post in the Augora Hills area yesterday--on the side of the freeway. I had dark glasses on, but I determined it had a light chest--and a pretty big bird, but maybe it was smaller than a Red-tail. Hard to know from a moving vehicle. The Umbies are mating...I can hear Coco with "that" cluck. |

Hi, Hula.... I just got here a few minutes after 1 Nest Coast Time and have been watching the nest in all different sizes from postage-stamp size to full screen and I'm afraid this might be a case of 'nestful wishing'... I convinced myself that I was looking at adult bald eagles waaaaaaaaay off in the distance until I went back to Cumbrian's screen shot posted yesterday on pg. 2 showing the nest at 1 pm yesterday and the same shapes are there.... I'm gonna keep watching with one eye tho while I catch some of the Men's Tennis Finals at the U.S. Open (that was supposed to have started already). Saw Eagle D in our nest and am looking forward to his post about his day with Deby's kids. Later! |

Hi Darrell, glad the meeting went well!! I'm not sure what hubby put in my coffee, but Hulabird must be having some of the same  . Seriously though, it really does look like eagles way in the distance. Wishful thinking? Hi Patti!! We have several Red Tail Hawks quite nearby in a couple of tall trees next to the school up here. They often get harrassed by Nancy's crows. They chased one right over our house yesterday, flying rather low so I could really see some good detail. Of course, camera was out of reach - again <_< |
