Today, as many of you already know, is just about the saddest day for our nation.  If anyone on this forum has been affected by these horrific terror attacks personally, I am so, so sorry.  I don't know how you could even turn on the t.v.  Me, on the other hand, feel that I owe it to all of the families that were hurt and for our military overseas fighting desperately to keep us safe, will watch non-stop.  I will never forget.  NEVER!

Today is Patriot Day in America, so, if you have an American flag, please hang it out in support of all of the beautiful people that make up our nation.

There's a new program going to start up this TV season called Men in Trees and is based in Alaska. I've gotten a season pass on Tivo. Looks promising for bald eagle viewing.

do you know what network??

I can't believe it's been 5 years already. I watch the news in the morning while getting ready for work. I was just getting to leave for the office when the the news came through on the Today Show. I sank onto the floor. Then my sister, KLJinOz, called me, she had stayed up really late that night in Sydney and was watching too. We watched the 1st tower collapse together, Kathy was sobbing. I was too numb to cry...

My first trip to New York was in 2003 and I went to Ground Zero. Back then, it was still fenced off, but there were makeshift memorials all around the perimeter, tacked onto the chain link fences. It was heart wrenching.

I support the patriotism of our young men. I have concerns about the Iraq war, but I support our guys 110%. Thank you Harpo516, for posting the photo of the dashing young man in his military uniform.

Sorry everyone....every since the tenting I don't have soundon my computer. I tried the links and I can't get what is going on. Am trying to get the sound part back on my computer but it's kinda low on the priority list at the moment.

What was on the Jiffy Lube?? It looked like news? Since I don't watch the news it must be something bad.

Joanie...thanks for telling me about the Keifer...I'll check it out maybe next time I have to take this stuff. I am done with if for now thank goodness.

I'll be glad when this day is over it's so depressing

Teddy Neal...yes it was you. I really enjoyed it thanks for sharing.

Am thinking about going to bed. So night night everyone and I'll check in with you all tomorrow.

7:21PM Camera off for the night.

Thanks for all the interesting viewpoints today. That is what makes this forum so great we can all have our own personal views and opinions and be comfortable expressing them here because, as ElaineRuth says, we are like family.

cdn-cdn,that was a lovely poem you posted earlier and Patti a beautiful flying eagle to accompany it.

Denny, that was an interesting post about marriage and aging.

ElaineRuth, the video about Jiffy Lube well..........what can one say! The truth will out!

To everyone, have a peaceful evening and we will meet again here tomorrow.

Good Night.

It is extremist behavior that is bad; this is what I hold close to me. The "enemy" hides behind good faith--everywhere, in any religion. It is a terrible plight of extremist enemies. May all our loved ones be protected in their acts of courage. May innocent people in the Middle East be protected as well. May we find our enemy--and may the innocent be spared. I am weary of battle and lost lives on all sides. 9/11, I will not forget you. I say this with a heavy heart. I'm sorry. Forgive me.

My husband is a history scholer as well as a retired army officer and he tells me that most, if not all, of the wars in history were started over religion.
Ironic, isn't it???

I'll now get off my soapbox. Hopefully I haven't offended anyone. If so I apologize.

Pat, never feel that you have to apologize for things that you believe in as long as you aren't trying to be hurtful or vindictive on purpose.
And I know you are not.
