Today must be Preening Day at the Pinecone Branch, Eagle's Nest Beauty Salon!

It's a Day Spa & Gymnestium!!!!!

That's a good one Elaine......now we know why they are all coming to the nest! Must have 'off season' nest passes! :D

Cumbrian, I can't even see the bird, it must be blending better than you thought. Also, have you ever been to (I think its called) Brackenridge? Sounds like the place to be this time of year.

Edit: Brackendale

Have never been there, it is over on the mainland, past Squamish......but it certainly seems to be a good place to visit, sometime in the future.

Yes, the first bird was quite camouflaged on the captures. You really had to 'be there' to see it move etc. It was too small I thought to be a Hawk, but the tips of the wings were red/brown when it flew off.

Hi guys:

then went to do my presentation for the Bird club.  There were about 40 people there and I handed out all of the brocures and showed the DVD.  They stood up and applauded the DVD and several said that they would make contributions.  Hopefully, they will.

Well Done skellis.......great, that you are feeling better, and you obviously did a great presentation, when you got that response.

Did they have a question period afterwards?

Ekaine,
Hulabird was with us this morning. Perhaps she had to fix someone's computer.

Yes, Hulabird is with us. Darrell is in love, and working, so I'm not suprised we haven't heard much from him. But he'll pop in with some witty comments when we least expect it. I learned you can click on a member's profile and see when they last posted...

Peppermint, we didn't have rain down here in Ventura. We sure need it.

Teri, sorry about the slideshow malfunction. We await patiently... I know it's not easy to upload these things. Cumbrian had to walk me step-by-step on PhotoBucket.

KLJinOZ ordered some product from IWS and had it shipped to my office and it arrived today. The note cards, which I never would have considered ordering as I email or send Hallmark cards, were really nice. I'm very interested in the little owls nesting on the islands, there are 2 photo cards of them. BTW, the cards don't come in a box, there were wrapped loosely in a plastic shopping bag. They arrived undamaged, but you wouldn't be able to give them as a gift without finding your own box. The T-shirts she ordered were the gray color, Hanes Beefy T and a nice embroidered logo on the chest. Hey, what about product for us girls?

I live in Canyon Country (part of Santa Clarita) and we've had ashes on our cars for a couple of days now. The bummer is I just bought a new car last week! I went with the "Driftwood" (tan) color to match the dirt around my home and work. Maybe I should have gone with silver....
Okay, I feel guilty complaining about a few ashes, compared to the tragedy of this massive fire.
I thought maybe this wonderfully overcast weather would help the fire but I heard on the news this morning that it was actually hampering efforts: the crews were trying to light backfires but the dew kept things too moist!
