Good morning, Hulabird. The woman who never sleeps. Just give me some time and I'll work down to the note cards. Or up to the note cards. You are doing a great job donating your fixit time. It's nice to be retired, isn't it? |

Actually, I'm already bored but don't want to do the same thing. Still trying to figure out what I want to be "if" I grow up. |

Good Morning all! It's going to be a warm calm day up here in Northern California. I'm gonna hit the Lafayette art and wine festival this weekend. Hulabird here is a link to a barn owl cam in Benicia California that I watched this past season. This pair produced 5 owlets of the cutest things you ever did see. Right now the parents have taken up roosting in the nest box. On this site there are other cams to watch as well. Do enjoy. http://www.birds.cornell.edu/birdhouse/nes...l_ca/index_html Hope everyone has a great day! |

We are off to Santa Maria today for football against Alan Hancock College...BIG rival to SBCC, I guess. Looks to be an absolutely beautiful day today...sure glad the temps have dropped a bit. Have a great day everyone and I'll be back with my coffee and two hours of catching up to do tomorrow morning! PATTI: did your email addy change after the Verizon upgrade?? I just got one returned saying it does not recognize verizon.net. |

Hi Everyone...just checking in for the morning...oh wait is it still morning? OK, yes, good I haven't gone totally crazy yet! Hulabird It was great to hear your voice. And the rest of the family's voices too. I don't know how you took care of all those hungry mouths and worked too. Geesh, I am in awe. Or maybe I'm just lazy. If you really don't know what to do with yourself, consider hypnotherapy. There must be a lot of islanders that want to quit smoking. And with Triplar right there....it'd be easy. It's easy to learn, it's so rewarding, and you do it when you want to. Cumbrian. I left you a pm. I am totally lost and do not have a clue on how to do that photo thing. Hello to everyone else. I am working a little from home today. Studying studying studying. I'm so glad the weather is like it is. This is why I live here. Beautiful and clear. Wonder how the fires are...anyone know. Since I'm not watching news I don't have a clue. I didn't find an owl anywhere....thank goodness. But I didn't look too hard. I wouldn't want to find it dead, that would have made me crazy. |

Got this from my son in law today.... The Budweiser Story (not a joke) This is a TRUE STORY ! ! ! (Remember George Burns ! ! !) How Budweiser handled those who laughed at those who died on the 11th of September, 2001. . .Thought you might like to know what happened in a little town north of Bakersfield , California . After you finish reading this, please forward this story on to others so that our nation and people around the world will know about those who laughed when they found out about the tragic events in New York , Pennsylvania , and the Pentagon. On September 11th, a Budweiser employee was making a delivery to a convenience store in a California town named McFarland. He knew of the tragedy that had occurred in New York. When he entered the business to find the two Arabs, who owned the business, whooping and hollering to show their approval and support of this treacherous attack. The Budweiser employee went to his truck, called his boss and told him of the very upsetting event! He didn't feel he could be in that store with those horrible people. His boss asked him, "Do you think you could go in there long enough to pull every Budweiser product and item our beverage company sells there? We'll never deliver to them again." The employee walked in, proceeded to pull every single product his beverage company provided and left with an incredible grin on his face. He told them never to bother to call for a delivery again. Budweiser happens to be the beer of choice for that community. Just letting you know how Kern County handled this situation. And Now The Rest Of The Story. . . It seems that the Bud driver and the Pepsi man are neighbors. Bud called Pepsi and told him. Pepsi called his boss who told him to pull all Pepsi products as well! ! ! That would include Frito Lay, etc. Furthermore, word spread and all vendors followed suit! At last report, the store was closed indefinitely. Good old American Passive-Aggressive A$$ Whoopin! Pass this along, America needs to know that we're all working together! This brought tear of joy to my heart |

sandie, I checked both the PM and personal e-mail ( you are notified there too when you have personal messages/e-mails) and I have not received anything from you today??????!!!! Roy has started to use his computer skills to design and layout, what he calls artisitic images, then he transfers them onto plaques that he has made to make Decorative Handpainted Wall plaques. So far he has painted Eagles, Hawks, Loons and Herons and is now onto local stuff, like the Bastion and cannon, that fires during the summer months at 12:00 Noon for the tourists! He has also painted the Pacific Dogwood which is our Province's Flower and he is now planning out designs for Baby's and Children's rooms, plus Name plaques for Christmas etc. This started to keep himself busy, whilst he is off work on disability. He rediscovered his creative side and when he was talking to one of the chaps at the market (it is only small, but has been mentioned in Harrowsmith's Country Life Magazine as one of the best 10 Farmer's Markets I think in the country...but don't quote me on that), he asked him why he didn't consider selling them. So we are now members, but only go as drop in at present....the market only runs from May to October...just to see how Roy can cope with the 4 hours there. At least he can sit here and there is no heavy lifting to damage his back further. It is a good gage to see how he can cope if he is to return to work later this year. Sorry for the rather long reply...but you did ask! ![]() |

sandie: in reference to the budweiser email, check this out: http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/blbudweiser.htm it's a hoax - this is about the 3rd or 4th time I've seen it! There's so many of them going around - I guess you have to take a little bad with all the good the internet provides! Have a good one. Hulabird - I'm never growing up! I've never seen in the rules of life where I have to do that - I may have to eat my veggies but nothing about growing up - hee hee. |
