Hi Dr Sharpe, What affect are these fires having on the wildlife on the Channel Islands and specifically on our eagles? Has Cruz been seen lately? I'm worried that any of them might flee the smoke into the fire or worse head out to sea with no landings. |

I don't think the fires will affect the eagles. It wouldn't make much sense for them to flee a fire that is 30+ miles away from them (20 miles of which is water). The Santa Ana winds are supposed to die down soon, so the smoke will start going east instead of west and not impact the islands. |
