Good morning, Cruz'ers! It's beautiful here this morning. Looking forward to the update! According to the news our cooler weather is helping the firefights a little. Hope everyone's air quality is improving. |

Good Morning All~ Today is the first day that it has felt like fall is coming in my area. Cool brisk morning, no fog, blue skies - - I LOVE FALL!! We can get ready for harvest, Halloween and the nest builders, hopefully. I sure hope they plan on renesting at the same nest. I can't wait, I am ready to see some eagle construction. Hope everyone is safe, happy and healthy today. I have a lot on my plate today so I will be lurking. TTFN~ |

In looking at the IWS Eagle cams yesterday I saw an adult eagle on the West End nest, and what appeared to be either a raven or a young eagle on the 2 harbors nest. It was not a clear picture on 2 harbors. They didn't stay long. THe SC nest was pretty in comparison but very empty. These views however brought back fond memories of Cruz and her parents. Have a good day. John |

Good Morning Everyone, Glad to hear that some cooler weather is moving in, so hopefully that will assist with putting out those fires. Although we haven't been posting over the last couple of days......had a couple of very frustrating days, when we seemed to be going constantly backwards instead of forwards......I have been lurking and keeping up to date, making sure that everyone was safe. Looking forward to the weekly update later today to see what our girl has been up to this past week. Welcome Polly and any other new members, that are still lurking. Have a Great Day....... |

OK, don't be just sitting around waiting for IWS updates. Get busy and do some GoodSearches.

Jann I was anxious to try this out....Does my Bernie appear?? We shall see. Thank you thank you thank you Cumbrian...I have had a lot of those kind of days too. Glad to know you are keeping up with us and checking on us. We'd be lost if you weren't The birdies are flying around today here a lot more than they have. I think that must be a good sign for the fires. I talked to a good friend of mine last night. She was mourning the loss of her tree. The fire marshall came around and decreed that this tree had to come down in case an ember were to fly over there it might take her house down. This tree housed hummingbird nests in the past. I was pretty upset. But glad to know the fire marshall was out there looking into these types of things. |

Hi Troth. I'm kind of with you on the nest building, but that's why I posed the question a few weeks ago. #10 & #26 being new at the game put the nest in an open area, and it was sad to think they were really in the open elements with cold and rain with little shielding. Plus we were told that most nests are built closer to the ocean and food. But I would also love to see them in the same place, because we have such a great view. Such confusion!

The nest not having shelter might be inconvenient for the eagles, but I agree that it makes for great viewing. The Saanich nest had a great view as well, but there were always those tree branches to deal with and Big and Lil seemed to love to walk over in the basement area all the time

I believe that if every member, and we have 270 registered members, or friends, did 20 searches on GoodSearch we would make the $100.00 by the end of this month. peppermint...you could probably confirm this. Current total, when I checked a few minutes ago was $50.76...which means we need $ 49.24 to reach $100.00. That is 4924 searches needed (at 1c per search). So divide that number by the 270 members and.......we could do it........LEGALLY though! |

Beautifully clear morning here, as well! It truly does feel like fall is upon us...but I'm not so easily fooled....we'll usually get more heat just as we start enjoying this. Sandie: your avatar is absolutely precious with the blinking eye...good job! The Steve Irwin tribute last night was very moving. I was astounded at the poise of his 8 year old daughter...wow! And the music...so very different to me but the Aussies seemed to know the words...I found their singing along to be quite moving also. His poor wife...she has truly lost her kindred spirit. And when they spelled out Crikey with those yellow wreaths....wowwwww |
