You are right Peppermint, Harpo was waiting for tonight's update. I sometimes tend to skim our postings without really reading and saw the word drawing and that alerted me that we are having one real soon. And we are all in the pool for winning a prize...

The details on the raffle will be announced on or about Oct 1st...the date is still Oct 14th, with the new job I'll be doing the bulk of the work on this date, with the full list of winners being announced as soon as all the prizes are claimed. The fundraiser portion is slated to end on Sept 30th...it may take a couple of days to get a final total and to find out just what will be available for prizes...so far I know of 11 tours, 6 visits while they are in the process of fostering the eggs and the chicks and much much more...got a few details to work out still. As soon as they are worked out I'll let everone know...let's keep the donations coming in everyone...we are doing so much better than I had envisioned us doing when we started. I'm very proud to have been a part of this and to be a part of all of you.

We're not done yet, but we are getting close...more to follow...

I knew I was onto something! Thanks for the update, Eagle D. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we win something individually. Better chances than the Calif lotto, for sure!

Peppermint Patti, thanks for asking about the dove. He lived until Sunday afternoon. Woody and I knew when we woke up that today (Sunday) was going to be his last . We knew he wouldn't live through the day. We took turns holding him all day making sure his last moments were spent in love and comfort. We both held him and talked to him and put a heating pad on our chest so he would feel comfy. He died at about 3:15 on Sunday. I still feel so sad about it. He was laid in our bird cemetary on our property.

Cumbrian Just got back on here for awhile and I went to my controls and checked those setting and the answer is yes on all of them...Don't know what is wrong but I will live without seeing them all. I'll just have to imagine it all.

I am going to go meet the new owner of my trailer....I hope he can take better care of it than I could. Sounds like he and his wife will have a great time in it like I have always had. They plan on restoring it.

I never saw this memorial but maybe Steve's daughter will take up where her Dad left off? If she is this strong now she may become more than just a replacement for her Dad.

LEIGH I had a wonderful Dobbie. He was the grand master of protectors. I called him Koenig Des be Schuter....or something like that in German. King of the Protectors is the translation. He used to sit in my little Fiat Spyder in the back seat with the top down. Kid in the front street and she was taking Cello lessons The Cello was strapped on the luggage rack. All of us going to those lessons was a crack up. Then stroll to the beach with Syd the cockatoo on  my shoulder, Koenig one one side of me and speckle the cat on the other side down to the waters edge. Specks could only tolerate the ocean water for so long then she was flicking it off her paws. She probably left us and cleaned her paws for hours afterward.

I contacted the moderator and asked to have your permissions to the avatar storage area checked.

Hulabird, I am so sorry about the Dove. Woody and you are such special people. For both of you to take the time, to make sure that the Dove knew he was in safe hands, and to try to make him as comfortable as possible on his last day.......St. Francis of Assisi, lover of all creation, champion of justice, patron saint of animals and the environment, would be so proud of you both.....as we are.

Thank you for caring so much...........

Oh, Hula-B... I was so sorry to hear the update on your little dove but I know that there was a reason that your paths intersected and your lives entwined however briefly.

Hulabird, I am so sorry to hear about the dove and so moved by the love you and Woody showered on it in its final hours. At the risk of sounding too mushy, your compassion is a gift and an inspiration!

Hulabird I am so sorry for your loss. I do know how you feel. The last cat we lost was very old and when she stopped eating I knew she was going. It was winter and I put a heating pad at the foot of our bed and petted her there until she went. She showed she appreciated the attention right up to the time she departed. It takes a while to get over that. Big Hug.
