Cumbrian: What is it with these scrub jays wanting to hang out at the nest. This must be a good location if everyone stops by. It is a neststop for the birds flying by but no one really stays long. Good thing cause in the winter it will be occupied, hopefully. |

Hi all....I am so furious it's beyond belief. All that was wrong with my car was a radiator cap. The dealer told me it was a cracked head!!! Instead of costing me 2.400.00 it cost me 10.30. I feel like marching my self down to the dealership and having a chat with the general manager. And not a pleasant one at that. While out today I noticed a lot of birds flying around in the sky. They look like they are lost and looking for a safe place to roost. Wish there was something I could do about that. Eagle Duo...lets' hope what I did worked. Don't you just want to cuddle those little baby eagles. I can almost remember when our Cruz looked like that. Harpo is that a picture of a parent feeding it's young? HulaBird.... the dove!! I took a baby to the bird rescue place when it fell out of it's nest. I was amazed when I called back and she said it lived and was thriving.

I'm still hoping for an A49 - Saanich Lil matchup A55 looks like he would be strong competition though.

I agree Ostrich but just in case they don't make the aquaintence, isn't A-55 just dreamy? PS Sandie, whatever you did, I can see Bernie. Good job! Now you have to a tutorial in the tech section. |

A55 is a great looking bird - I guess it all depends if A49 is the type to go for the boy next door or the handsome stranger from out of town

I have my eyes on A-55 for our beloved. I hope. I hope. I'd go for him, if I were an eagle. Good news. For the CAM locals: the nicest Albertsons (sp?) employee is also an eagle fan--but has yet to check the website. His new girlfriend is a TEACHER, so I've mentioned how the webcam is encouraged as a teaching tool when there are chicks in the nest. I told him about the IWS t-shirts and hats--and he's asked me to order a XL t-shirt for him. He's a true eagle lover, and we always chat in the aisles. How funny. Talking "eagles." When I take in his t-shirt, I'll show him the hat--and maybe he'll decide he can't live without that! |

Hi everyone..Someone mentioned Google Earth a few days ago and its really great to go on and search the island... you can see the pier and then how long the hike is across the island.. also shows the windy sides of the island and the calm areas..I went to "Ventura, Ca." to start search. Typing Santa Cruz just took me to South America or somewhere with a Cruz in the name. I just skipped along the shore, zooming in and out to see the coves and terraine... Not much to do about nothing, but for any of you out of towners, the October issue of House Beautiful, has a nice story about Ojai.. you can get a feel of our town and I even know some of the houses in the story, one about a mile from me. Check it out!! |

sandie: If you are talking about the Dr. Sharpe photo - it's from the article that I posted the link - it's him with a puppet feeding the little one! At first glance, I was wondering how he had an adult eagle there feeding the eaglet! That would be amazing. and how do you make your avatar blink??? |

The hand puppet is how they feed all the young condor chicks... they don't want them to imprint on the human face as a "good thing".. if they liked adults too much, they would fly to them when released in the wild.. like.. "where's my food tonight"?? |

Cumbrian, how exciting!! I caught about 2 minutes of it, but only got one good screenshot Thanks for the good shots!!!! Think it was mom making a list of what to get from the Nest Improvement store? Got that impression, cause he/she was looking around so much. YAAAAAAY! WE HAD A VISITOR!!! |
