Good Morning all...I'm up early and just checking in. I forgot or maybe I have shared yet another live cam! This cam is in San Francisco of our resident peregrine falcons, George and Gracie. I watched their nesting season and so did my co-workers with awe. They return each year to the area around the PG&E building. PG&E pays for the camera to be operated so the Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group can monitor the falcons. Quite often you can see peregrines flying and catching prey to bring back to the babes. Although the cam is down for the season, just click on the view nest highlights to see the video and turn up the sound. You can also visit the photo gallery for some awesome photos of the birds and do enjoy the sweeping views. http://www2.ucsc.edu/scpbrg/falconcamera.htm |

Good morning, Cruzers! Great links this morning! What amazing photos! Hulabird, I was able to get an English translation of the site you shared by right clicking on the page and going down to Translate Page into English at the bottom of my flydown. I'm not technical enough to know if this works on all computers, but it did on mine and probably will on others if not all....right?

Cumbrian thanks so much for capturing yesterday's photos of Mom or Dad on the nest. What a beautiful sight. Just think, we may be seeing a lot of them when "nestoration" begins. Can't wait. |

Good morning everyone! Hulabird, go to www.freetranslations.com and on the upper right click on free webtranslator. Then coose the languages and copy the URL in. It worked okay, most of it got translated. Edit: Hahahaha, some of it got all mixed up. |

I have arrived at work and was able to spend more time looking at that site Hulabird. What beautiful photos. I tried to do your trick Jann but was unsuccessful. I work with many who speak spanish. I will see if they can help translate or direct us non speakers/readers. But a picuture is worth a thousand words so we may not need any translations right? They are wonderful thanks.Hope all in the southland are doing ok. We are having our typical windy fall winds which translates to those Santa Ana's down south and doesn't help the fire situation at all. The weather up here is absolutely beautiful and clear and as I approached the Bay Bridge this morning I saw a hawk just riding the thermals crusing over the toll plaza and beyond. I had to keep my eyes on the road, but managed to see it's wonderful soaring display. We are having warm days now and if any of you want to visit SF this is the best time of year. Have a good day all. Elaine hope you are feeling better. ![]() |

'Morning Nancy. Your mentioning the fires reminds me to warn our people from Ojai again. Papers report that the Santa Ana's will return this weekend, and to be ready to get out if necessary. They are afraid with the shift in the winds, the fire will head right back to the Santa Paula/Ojai area. Upper Ojai (Hwy 150) has already been alerted to be ready to leave if they have to. Please be safe everyone. |

Maybe Dave already put that site on my computer? I'm not a technical person, that's Dave's department and I'm sure grateful that he's as technical as he is! Thanks for sharing the translation site, Bea! A picture may be worth a thousand words and those pictures are amazing.....but it is nice to have the translation....even if it does get a bit mixed up now and then.

Harpo, thanks so much for the link. Those pictures are amazing. He must have a very expensive camera and gigantic loom lens. Eagle Duo neither my Internet Explorer nor Firefox have the translator built in. But I wound up using the babel-fish site. Similar to the Bea posted. It was pretty funny reading the literal translations. |

Great links and great photos everyone, big thanks. ElaineRuth: hope you are on the road to recovery. Ojai, and area people, stay out of harm's way. . . Let's cross our fingers they get the fire under control before it burns much more especially since they are expecting the Santa Ana winds to kick in this evening. How exciting that we had a visitor on the nest last night. A great sign of things to come I hope. Just seeing an eagle on the nest was awesome, brought back many memories So good to know that Cumbrian is there, you rock!!!TGIF |
