And a Good Morning to you Hulabird and all others! Thanks for that "eye opening" greeting Off to work this morning for a short time and then the rest of the day off. Reading about the fires up here and they have closed several of our East Bay Parks at least until Sunday. Makes me nervous, that is getting too close to where I live. We have tons of open space and the vegetation is so dry and abundant due to the heavy spring rains. Let's keep our fingers crossed that things don't get out of hand. My thoughts are with those who are near any fires and with the brave men and women fighting them. Enjoy your day all

Good Morning, all, Hulabird & Nancy. Beautiful eyes on that birdie! Mesowest reporting 66 degreess with 94% relative humidity on SC Island--with 14 mph winds SSE. This is 7 a.m. report. It's clear here, but looks overcast out toward Oxnard. Hope those fires stay away from you, Nancy. My friend told me his friend in upper Ojai was warned yesterday to be on evacuation alert. I don't smell smoke, but have been coughing a bit, so wonder if it's due to that. The nest is quiet. |

Good Morning Everyone~ I wanted to check in and see what was going on with you peeps before heading out to the farmers market. I see the skies are clear here in Ventura but do look alittle smokey toward Ojai. I hope everyone that directions is safe, if not, like I said, give me a call if I can help. HB: Loved the owl eyes, very eye opening first thing in the morning, which I needed. Don't have any coffee in the house so that was the next best thing. I have a very busy schedule this weekend so I will be mostly lurking, let's hope the adults visit again today, they need to take nestintory of the supplies they need for the nesteration so it will no longer be a neststop for every other bird along the skyway. Nancy: You stay safe also, I didn't know about the fire up there. It's a wonder California has any vegetation left with all the fires we get every year. Everyone havve a safe and happy weekend. Tootles. . . . |

Hulabird.. your peeps post along with my first cup of coffee did the job!! I am awake!!!! Nancy, so nice to read about Lulu again.. I was sent a second tape after I made her donation so I would like for you to have it or give me an address to mail it as I haven't opened it yet...Maybe a friend or relative of yours would like to see it. We sang Happy Birthday very loud last night for my dad's 93rd!! Big cake and lots of candles..Ojai is getting a little smokey now and I see a slight breeze in the trees.. So many firetrucks, over 200 according to my fire post.. from all over the state.. I think they are ready for anything. |

I know this is entirely off topic and I apologize for that. But its not often that I find a product that is worthy of me swinging from the trees over. Probably, like the rest of you, I hate doing laundry but not much is sweeter than nice smelling clothes. Tide has a new product called Simple Pleasures (Vanilla and lavender), and Downey has a complimentary product with the same name but the smells are waterlily and jasmine. I washed my comforter in that today and put it back on the bed. Closed the door and when I went in later, the room smelled like a beautiful field of flowers. Its a little more expensive than the usual stuff but I got a good deal at Sam's Club. |

Well, good morning to YOU too Hulabird! That's the way I like to wake up!!! Good morning everyone else! Stay safe with the fires...wish I could send you some of the rain we have today. LOVE the smell of vanilla! I'll have to look for it on the shelves. I use Tide all of the time, but that scent seems oh so lovely! Hoping for a visit from Cruz's parents and maybe, just maybe, even Cruz!

I'm not holding out too much hope from a visit from Cruz - it's pretty clear she's spending all her time on the beaches, which let's face it is where she should be - out looking for more meals. I'd settle for K10 or K26 though

Troth: When are you going on your trip to Scotland. Had coffee this week with a friend who just got back from a month long trip to Scotland - she said it was wonderful - the countryside was beautiful and green, and the people were very friendly. There was actually a program on the travel channel the other night about the Scottish Highlands - it made me homesick!! Anyway, hope you have a great trip. LB |

Good morning forum friends, and happy Saturday to all. HB, those bird peepers scared the bejabers out of me, but made me laugh too, what a great way to start the day. And, I've noticed the adds for the new Tide and Downey products, and with your endorsement, I'm going to try them! To all in the fire areas, I hope you and your property are soon out of danger. Coming back from Bass Lake on Tuesday we crossed the ridge route after dark and it was scary to see the fires burning on the ridges. Well, the Big Bear house closed and now it is all ours. We spent yesterday up there doing a bunch of pre-moving prep once we got the keys, and now it's time for me to get real serious and finish up packing. We're taking up boxes next Saturday, and the Saturday after we'll take up the furniture. And, as if this all wasn't good enough news, we also passed the mold inspection on the Vista house, so this one is on track to close 10/12 (insert a huge sigh of relief here). Got to get started on the chores.....check with you later. |
